Hey all,

Remy J from NYC here. I just booked my flight to Ibiza (Aug 12 - 20). My travel agent suggested Hotel Simbad to me. Does anyone know if its any good. The rate I got is reasonable. Thanks in advance.

wow

there's a blast from the past!!! i stayed at the hotel simbad during my first ever trip to ibiza. it was with my older brother and my parents, it was 1978 and i was 8. still remember it though as a nice hotel, nice pool, near to a nice beach, and very, very close to ibiza town, u could see it from ur balcony. i'ts in talamanca isnt it?? yeah i can reccomend it, even though it was 26 years ago!!!

Yes, it is in Talamanca. Thanks for the response!

I live about two minutes walk away from Hotel Simbad. It doesn't look as if it's changed much in those 26 years. Hip and happening it ain't. Most of the guests seem to be Germans or Brits, although there always seems to be a small group of bemused American clubbers who don't quite fit in. I've often wondered about them. I think your query partly answers my question, although I'm still intrigued to know why a travel agent in NYC should recommend the hotel.

Still, the place looks clean. Ibiza Town's only 10 minutes away by cab or bus. You can walk to Pacha or El Divino in about 20 minutes. And if you feel the need for sleep while you're here, there won't be any rowdies to disturb you.

how bizarre!!

when i was there alll those years ago was full of germans & americans too!! u couldnt move for handle-bar moustaches, leery shirts, sandals with socks & pot bellies, if u got behind one of them guys at the buffet, that was it, u were going hungry, unless u fancied one of those cremated hot-dogs they used to do in them little white ovens behind the bar!!!
on a brighter note, when u come back from the clubs, u can get ur towels down on the sunbeds thus beating u know who!!!
