Hotel Rocamar/Es Vive

Hello!

Just wanted to ask if anyone has stayed at hotel Rocamar in Talamanca and what is it like?

Another question is about Es Vive. I was trying to book it through their website, but there is no booking policy or any kind of booking information. Has anyone ever booked through them? Is there any other webiste to book the hotel (spotlight only has expensive rooms left). I've also read some reviews - is it true that most rooms do not have balconies? what hotel could be an alternative to Es Vive?

I would be very thankful if anyone could help.

I can't help you with the Rocamar but re Es Vive, I've stayed there and booked direct on their website (this was a couple of years ago and I don't know if their website has changed tho). However I will say that Es Vive is very over-rated and expensive for what it is - all you get is a basic room - some have balconies/some don't. Personally I think you can spend your money elsewhere and get much more for your money ;)

Thank you Barbie!

Just saw that Rocamar does not have rooms with balconies which is a shame, although the hotel looks pretty good.

We're considering Es Vive at the moment, but having read all the negative responses about it, I don't know if we'll end up renting it.

The thing is we are a couple and would like to stay somewhere nice (not too fancy and expensive), but having trouble finding something appropriate.

A friend advised Bali beach, but it looks like it has been booked out for the whole month of September.

Me and my b/friend have stayed at Bali Beach a few times (and again this September) and imo it's way nicer than Es Vive. If you can get a room there (try booking thru this site which is what we do) then I'd advise staying there.

As I said in earlier post you're way better not wasting your money on Es Vive ;)

We stayed a Rocamar a few years back, it's OK a bit dark and dingy though, would not stay again.

My husbands wallet went missing too one night when we were drinking in the bar and there was only us and the staff there! ?

Also the bathroom window had no blinds which was a bit odd as people in the apartments opposite could see in.

Oh and the buffet breakfast was vile.

On a positive note it's in a great location.

Myself and a couple of mates stayed at Rocamar 3 years ago. The hotels main selling point is its location - Talamanca is, in my opinion the best place to stay on the island.

The rooms at Rocamar are nothing to write home about - pretty bog standard 2/3 star type accommodation.

We had dinner on the restaurant terrace one night, the food was exceptional as was the view of the marina and Dalt Villa.

We stayed in Rocamar last year. The rooms are OK. Quite small but recently redecorated, some with balconies but the bathrooms are pretty cool, rooms have flat screen TVs and air conditioning. The bar and restaurant are great and the view is stunning across the marina. The location is probably one of the best on the island with the town and beach just a stroll away and boat taxis 1 minute away. Pacha is in walking distance as is Penelope (which might be irrelevant this year) Cafe Sidney is just across the road too which has a brilliant selection on their menu, as is the use of a great pool next door, a friendly night porter who will serve you drinks and the asylum of Lucifer close by too! Perhaps a bit pricey, but in Ibiza these days its hard to find anything cheap in such a great location.
