Hotel Cenit or Mar y Playa Apartments????

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone had ever stayed at the Cenit Hotel and had any advice about booking it. If it is nice, close to the beach and the clubs etc... we are deciding between it and the mar y playa apartments. ANy advice about either of them would be great. thanks in advance.
 
Stayed at the Cenit for the closing parties last year with my girlfriend... Very gay clientele but very friendly... decent enough value for money but be warned, it's a 10 minute walk downhill to the beach which is ok but getting back up is like climbing the f***ing Eiger!!!! It's a fair old trek, either round and round the roads or up more steps than you've probably seen in your life(although it might just be me being a lazy twat??)

ive stayed at both. as mentioned the Cenit is v.popular with gays (like moi), the pool is great (with fab views over figueretas) and has a lively pool bar. popular with mainly germans and brits. and again, beware the steep hill when getting back from clubs/beach - although there is a short cut that takers 5 mins to the beach.
the mar y playa is in a fab location on the promonade at figueretas (ie. without the hill climb) and has a nice small pool overlooking the prom and a large pool on a jetty out into the sea just accross the prom. its more family orientated accommodation and very laid back.

Thanks! That really does help - especially since I'm not one for climbing up a hill everyday on vacation! Haven't really madeup my mind yet, but at least I have some feedback to go from - so thanks for the help!
