Stayed in Arenal last year. It's a nice hotel in an excellent location. Speak to the travel company and ensure you upgrade to a sea view as this is by far the best place to be.
Hotel is in an excellent location for all the nightlife.
We didn't find the food very good though, we only ate there once.
The Hotel is quiet though and won't tolerate stereos at night. A family and couples sort of place.

Arenal
I found the hotel very nice, the one person rooms dont have a balcony, but look over the bay, the zinema bar and burger king and in the distance you can see the clubs.
The food is good, I found, I did read a lot of reviews on the internet that the food wasnt good, but it depends on your taste and likes. I did notice that most of the food is meat or does contain meat, which if you are a veggie, there is not much choice apart from salad.
Location wise, it is brilliant, the Zinema Bar is definitely worth spending an evening there, as there is nightly karaoke and the drinks are cheap, as well as the staff are friendly there, mainly Sue and Diane. I spoke mostly to Sue as she is from where I live.
