Hello all!

I'm going to Ibiza the first week of september and i would like to know if this hostal is good... It's very cheap and i'm a little afraid about going there...

Could you help me please?

from our hotels section

http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/hostal-roca/

there are reviews of the hostal (at the bottom of the page) by people who have stayed there.

all the hotels on our site are rigorously checked by our team to ensure that they meet our standards and give value for money.

have a good trip.

Hostal Roca en San Antonio

I have seen this 3 reviews but they seem to be from the same person (they use exactly the same words and it's very strange). I would like to have some opinions about the hostal from people who visit this forum...

Thanks

Yeah i was thinking the same thing, however heres hoping i have just booked for sept 11-18 staying at Roca!

I stayed there last year, and I have only good things to say about it. Its by no means the Hilton but for the price what can you expect? All the rooms
were very clean, staff were very friendly.

When I heard we were staying in a hostal, I assumed that it would be a shared bathroom situation, but all the rooms have their own toilets / showers.

One little gripe was that they dont like non residents coming back to the rooms (which was a pain in the arse, because I took a girl i'd been seeing from back home to the room, and it sorta tarnishes your reputation when you are pleading with the reception guy to let you get some action!)

Its in the west end, which isn't my cup of tea really but it served a purpose as we were on a stag do at the time.

9/10

I stayed there a couple of years ago.

The rooms are clean enough, but its location means its pretty noisy ALL night.

The ensuite bathroom facility was what i expected so this didn't particularly impress me.

Our "view" (our only window) looked out into a very thin alley (someone elses window being directly opposite), which wasn't the best.

It's ideally located if you're spending a lot of time in west end, as its basically above the shops/stalls selling tourist tat on the edge of the west end. Not on the main strip, but the road parallell (heading towards the egg).

I wouldn't stay there again.

Hi, I've just got back from staying at Hostal Roca.

I thought it was ok considering it was one of the cheapest places on the island, the staff were friendly, convenient location, but dont listen to the reviews like I did that say it is far enough away from the noise to have some sleep, its not true you will hear noise day and night!

Also it was very very hot in the room so definitely hire/buy a fan.

We had some idiots arrive midway through our holiday who just shouted and screamed and ran round the place ALL night which was unfortunate, but again should almost be expected for the price.
It would have been nice for the night porter to have asked them to either quieten down or go out though.

If you are going to be out all night until 6.00am or so then you will be ok, but then the cleaners will wake you up trying to clean the room, so dont expect much sleep.

That was our experience anyway, hope you enjoy your stay.

Next time I will probably stay somewhere with air conditioning, and further away from the west end.

It served its purpose though, if you just want somewhere to change and shower its ideal.

Ive posted a couple of pics from our room.

Ours was ok, had 2 single beds, bed side tables, a wardrobe, dressing table and 2 stools. We also had a view. I saw the rooms that just looked out onto a little alley thing and someone elses room right there and they were much grimmer, with hardly any natural light.

Maybe ask if they have any more if you are offered a dodgy one?

It is so close to supermarkets and cafes and stuff its unreal, you will probably love it!

The one thing we couldnt do is park near but there was a car park near Fishermans Kitchen that was only about a 5 minute walk.

They have safety deposit boxes for 15 euros, with another 5 euros deposit, which I thought was worthwhile.

Hope some of this info helps, wish I could go back in September!

yeah that helps, cheers!

Does the room have a fridge in it for the much needed beer? Altho... if the supermarket is that close you can just go buy it as you need it... LOL

Ah I wish mate, was sick of warm beer/pop and it was so hot last week was drowning in my own sweat constantly!

There is literally just the things I listed, in our room anyway.

The night porter was funny, he went off on one when we came in at 6.00am, telling me I was a bad boy and I had to be out by 7.00am else I had to pay 20 euros. Didnt know what he was on about and thought he was having a joke about the time. It turns out he thought the room was booked out to 2 girls and 1 of them was trying to sneak me in, even though the room was booked in my name.

We have booked one of the triple rooms, so hopefully it is a bit bigger... not that it really matters... not planning on being in there at all... only sleeping I am planning on doing is on the beach! :D

Cheers!
