fab... yet another of those genuine and special places that go upmarket!

apparently it has been taken over by the mambo group. as mentioned ten years ago, javier revealed in an interview that one of his future plans was to open a mambo hotel... well, seems like it's happening at last!

Hi does anyone know if this place is open this year? Love the sunsets and the chilled vibe and they're nice and close to Ibiza Rocks. Tried a few sites but can't seem to book it anywhere.

Loved the vibe of that place gutted. It was so close to Cala Gracioneta as well. Do you know what their plans are for the place? I really hope it doesn't become another homogenized soulless clone. Mambos have enough stuff l hope it bombs and goes back to how it was.

he plans to open it this year...

[and yes, icebaer69... i merged my thread, which i was politely asked to remove a few minutes after posting it, with yours]

After doing a bit of research it would appear as though the lascivious tentacles of corporate Ibiza have struck again. Apparently the Torre family did not give up ownership of La Torre willingly. To take a mans livelihood, so you can posses something beautiful that you cannot create yourself, is morally wrong.

The mambo marketing people must have seen the market in experiencing the true essence of the islands

I’m also very happy to reveal that I’m starting a new weekly sunset residency from Thursday 23rd July.

Ever since I started the Sketches project I’ve been looking for a place that allowed me to play ‘a natural extension of the Sketches sound’, without anyone chirping in my ear to play ‘Josephine’ !

Thanks to Pete Gooding and the people at Cafe Mambo, this has now finally become reality and every Thursday from 7-11pm I’ll be playing at Hostal La Torre, Stella Maris, Ibiza. Over the past few years it’s become one of those word of mouth places, known for it’s stunning sunset views and I’m super excited that I get the chance to add some beautiful music to your sunset experience.

So any reports since the change?

Was planning on heading up tonight then saw this thread - has it been mambo-fied with the prices etc ?

ah I'm sure it's still nice to go for the sunset. and even if the food and drinks have become more expensive it'll still be a great place for a drink.

as for them tripling the room prices - OUCH!

is hostal la torre open all winter ?

"david moreno - hostal la torre live radio" on iglobal ... is this really LIVE now ?
