I love the new format but HATE that bar to the left!

When I'm at work I like to have Spotlight open in as small a window as possible but now I have to accomodate that horrid bar too. :?

Is there any way you can move it to the right??? Pleeeease pretty please?

I'll get fired otherwise and it'll be all your fault.

robder,

the only other option is to have it at the top of every page which then means all the posts and content is pushed right down the page = lots of scrolling on each page. i'd like to let it run a few days and then guage general reaction.

i might even be able to let you have a switch to turn it on and off - needs some investigating

Still throwing your diva demands around then?

Ooooh Stuie keeps popping up with his sticky beak! It's just like old times!

I'll stop moaning now James - I love the rest of it! ;)

James,

The old forum had the option of all the menus in spanish. Is it possible in this one? The spanish members are all quite confused with the options, me included

I mentioned this to James earlier... the reasoning behind having the bar is totally sound. The only problem is its location as it does make the field of vision on laptops a bit smaller (and, apparently, also in less-than-full-size windows). The right-side placement is a good idea, but I'm not sure how practical that is from a programming point of view.

Oh God I hadn't thought of the laptop thing...I've only got a 12" powerbook! 8O

Should I sell it and get a bigger one so I can see the forums? :o :?

Get a 15", the gossips say the release of the new pw g5 is really close so prices will go down. I have the 15" and it's now 1.000€ cheaper than what it costed when we got it :?

Yes :D

just one thing - you could set the minimum table width on the main column slighly wider.

erm, what will happen when someone posts a massive pic? will the forum stretch to the left now? That'll be weird...

morbyd, i have set min width to 550px - can't really go much bigger without pushing everything out to the right. i have reduced padding though, so there is definitely more space on a smaller screen.

a pic will simply push things out to the right, pushing the links to our sites even further out.

you'd better start using those links and surfing our main sites or i'll switch everything back!

;)

I'm going to click-through every day now just to boost the numbers!

Seriously though, I don't know about others but the menus are more visible to me on the right than on the left so I don't think you lost anything my moving them over.

By the way, if you posted more news in the "local news" section, we'd probably visit the main site often! ;)

It feels more natural for me as a right handed person to have extra links on the right, then I can go to them when I want to, rather than having to move my mouse all the way over to the left hand side of the screen (if that makes sense !)

Great new board btw ;)
