Hi guys, first timer here.....

In a few senses of the word really. First post on the forum, and in the summer it will be my first visit to 'the party Island'. The forum looks nice and detailed, which is what I've been looking for, and most of you seem very very knowledgeable about the place.

Myself and the family are having two weeks in Es Cana, start of July-ish, and it looks stunning, quite simply. Have any of you folks been, and if so, is the island as gorgeous as it looks?

you'll find es cana is just the ticket for a family holiday - the resort is oriented more towards families than other places. and yes the island is as gorgeous as it looks. if you don't fancy hiring a car to get out and about why not try the mini train from es canar, it's on our things to do section of the main site.........

have a good holiday on the party island!

Cheers for the reply mate, I think we are going to hire a car, although we haven't booked it yet (that's a thought - has anyone got any tips for a car-hire firm in Es Cana - if there are any? Or any nearby?), as we do want to get out and about.

That mini-train looks great. We'll probably use the ferry between Es Cana and Santa Eulalia as well. I haven't been on a boat since I was a kid.

Ste,
Try my sites on Ibiza or the hotel Cala Nova as below - both of which have plenty of info on Es Cana.
I shall be there myself from 10th of July, just booked for my 30th+ time, if you have any specific queries, email me from my sites and I will try to help.

getting around in Ibiza

hi, seems you might be a bit apprehensive about holidaying on a small island. don't worry, you will have a great time. try working out a schedule for the bus and go where your fancy takes you - if you get stuck/lost it's only a few euro to get home by taxi. this address will give you all the info you need on the buses. print all the relevant pages and stuff them in with your socks.

for a few euros you can all get around the island in safety. check out the late night buses and go and see the sunset in San An one night, it's a beautiful experience.

I'm not really apprehensive, I've holidayed in Menorca which is only slightly larger than Ibiza.

Cheers for that site by the way, although my Spanish is a tad rusty, and thanks for the advice too.

San An might be difficult as one of the family members is only young, so will need to be in bed around sun down. I've heard that the sunset looks beautfiul wherever you are in Ibiza though.

Try the direct link
http://www.calanova.co.uk/Resescanax.htm

and then the photo tour will give you an idea of Es Cana

There are several car hire outlets including "UR Rent", Bravo, Europcar etc and I can give you a couple of routes for scenic drives if you want but following your nose is more fun.
