Ok guys..Im turning 30 on the 25th July. I'm wanting to get Ibiza ticked off my bucket list. My friends this year have other priorities and I'm thinking I want to travel alone and enjoy not having to worry about anything or anyone.
My main question for people who have been before...would I enjoy myself just as much in a cheaper hotel? Rather than the big Ibiza rocks? Do I have to stay in San Antonio to enjoy my time as much? I want to meet people and party...hard! But not to bothered about been at the most craziest hotel? However I don't want to book a smaller one and be on my own...
Can anyone help? X

Can you stay in the smaller cheaper acomadation and still have a good time? I don't want to book and my hotel be dead? But not sure about booking the big hotels like Ibiza rocks? I'm thinking of going alone...so want some atmosphere x

Tbh... Its really upto yourself to have a good time.

It is what you make it

Depends what you want from your holiday. Personally I'm happy with a cheap-ish hotel - I don't socialise in the hotel much (it's where I sleep and maybe chill on the balcony), preferring to meet up with people from here or get talking to random folks in clubs. I prefer somewhere in PDB/Figueretas/Ibiza Town to San An, but that's a personal, controversial (o_O) choice and it usually drives the cost up a bit.

Don't be put off when a hotel calls itself a "hostel" - they are really just decent hotels but not quite the facilities of 4*. Nothing like "Youth Hostels" you find in the UK and elsewhere 6 to a room....they are genuine hotels with ensuite facilities and your own room! Check them out on one of the booking sites and plenty have bars and social areas etc to meet people; although I've never stayed in any inside Ibiza town itself there are hostel's there where there's atmosphere all around!

Example (never stayed there - it's just an example) look up "hostal Juanita Ibiza Town".

I second that ^ about hostels. Last time I went I booked the cheapest place I could find last minute called 'Hostel Alicante'. Fully expected it to be a complete dump but it was actually alright.

ur hotel can be dead, all things happened outside hotels

if looking for action in ur hotel, u got 2 cast! fancy hotel such ushuaia, hard rock and so on, or ibz rock, jets appt...

i never understand people buying a trip & hanging nearly all day at hotel/pool

As mentioned above, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. If you want to socialise ibiza is definitely the place to do it.

For cheap options casa maria is a good shout and they have a nice rooftop pool with a bar too.

Completely agree with the "hostal" comment, don't be put off. They may be smaller hotels but I stayed at the Florencio twice last year and it was decent for the price. I also found it to be pretty quiet which meant I could sleep off the previous 2 nights partying pretty well!

I'm another person who would rather socialise away from the hotel - it's been a welcome escape when travelling solo.

What a helpful post...

I agree with johnnyvodka I think pdb is a more social place at the beach etc .. but wherever you stay will be hell on earth at that time of year. I’d consider moving your birthday to late September. Kind regards :)

Nice Caravan site and decking btw.
There are camping sites on Ibiza - but shudder at the cost of getting all your gear on a plane!! Seriously though, for camping fans I assume you can hire tents and all sorts of pods if that's your thing. I was dragged round Europe as a kid in a caravan - and loved every minute. Probably where I got my lust for travel from.

Are there any official stats which shows what % of tourists are solo?

For me, it's more about Ibiza Town area at least feeling like you're in Spain, especially if (like me) you don't want to hire a car on holiday. I like a stroll around Ibiza Town during the day and sitting having a drink outside while watching a mix of tourists and workers.

I think you got the wrong end of the stick?

You'll be fine. As others have said, the smaller hotels aren't necessarily bad.

Enjoy!
