I would ditch the 'dj' and call yourself 'marcello'.
I prefer the look & sound of someones full name (or stage name) without the DJ in front of it. Eg FRANKIE KNUCKLES ... MARK SUN ... STU HIRST
I'd agree with this, yeh, yeh, I know I'm called DJ Soulman on here. But, ONLY here, on other sites I'm just Soulman but someone had already used it here (was to avoid spam on the t'internet). I NEVER use this for DJing I use my own name Les Scurr which is unique enough for me.
Last year I had some jingles professionally made in the USA for my residency 'The Stateside Sportsbar' (American theme bar) and myself (pack of 10 cost $200). I had them done with DJ Les Scurr (I know, cheesy, I use mine vary sparingly, mainly use the residency jingles all the time). After hearing them I then spent the next coupla days editing them in Soundforge to remove the DJ bit. I personally thought the DJ part sounded a bit too pretentious. They definately sound better. 8)
Got them from here for those DJ's interested in jingles;

One of my local pub/nightclubs has just announced a refit and a new target market, 18 to 21 year olds. They claimed they had all the best well known DJ's in this market and produced a list in the local paper of 6 or 7 staff with DJ in front of their Christian name (they're actually barstaff told to bring their CD's in as they're DJing tonight and will get paid an extra 5 quid

). SERIOUSLY!!! It all sounds so corny and looks it in the local paper. What a joke!!!
Maybe I should use the family nickname 'Scursy' for DJing.

Anybody any comments?
