Help a damsel in distress

Hi there helpers !

So just checked out the restaurant guide here and it's more telling me where's shite ! I would like a few recommendations for places at mid price band bracket in San an bay / playa dem bossa / Ibiza old town .

Last year we ate mostly at the ocean club as the foods really fresh and good quality there ! We had a few terrible meals at really busy looking places ! They were really over priced in comparison ! I'm mainly looking for places that do a bit of everything it nice burger / grill places

Thanks in advance!

Ibiza Rocks Bar in PdB for a big good value feed

Home Loos in Figueretas for Tapas

Makkeroni in PdB for amazing Pizzas

La Oliva in Dalte Villa Ibiza Town

Unfortunately the food in San An is mostly awful and all the usual rules apply, don't eat in somewhere with photographs of the food outside or with an enormous menu! I did find a nice little place at the back of the West End in Carrer d'Antoni Riquer called El Quijote which was quite good. And I've always had a good meal in Il Pavino in Calle de la Virgen, in Ibiza town.

La Bodega in the old town is a must. You can eat tapas, drink and be merry for around €20 a head.
La Oliva is just as nice but more "a la carte", not tapas...and a little pricier as a result.

I really like Itaca in San Antonio for decent, fairly priced food. Plus there's music and it gets busierore like a small club later on some nights.

What a lot of shite, tremendous variety of places for excellent food in San Antonio.

A small selection:

Relish in the bay.
Kumharas in the bay.
Tapas (best place in the whole of Ibiza)
Rita's.
Villa Mercedes
Ibiza Rocks
Kasbah
Pikes
David's
Tijuana

Relish is fab !!! Forgot them

Me too. I could Sit there and people watch all night.
But the strawberry daiquiris soon start to effect me and I forget how to use my legs to get home

My go to bar, the morning after the night before. Seen myself spend the day in there sometimes and it all getting a bit messy. Great for people watching.

Upstairs can be cool at night as well, good tunes.

nice list and am mostly in agreement. two exceptions:

- villa mercedes: lovely setting, but seriously overpriced and quality is definitely NOT what it used to be.
- david's - sorry, but a good pizza is something different.

I'd add es ventall and sa capella to the list too. both more upmarket (especially sa capella), but if you want to have one more sophisticated dinner out, then look no further. also if you want fish/seafood, then head to can pujol at the end of san an bay. not cheap, but some of the best seafood I've had on the island.

My Mrs would agree with you about Villa Mercedes, she finds it more a miss than a hit with regards to food these days. I have still mostly been impressed.

Never had Pizza at David's, their duck dishes never fail to deliver though. Great comfort food when you can eventually eat something.

Sa Capella is also a must, agree.

Each to their own, I guess you have a different idea of decent food than I, or I've just not happened by the right places :-) I was married to a Spaniard for some years and have lived in mainland Spain and what passes for "tapas" in many places on the island is muck from a tin. "Albóndigas caseras", yeah, right! The last place I went didn't even cut their Serrano Ham from the leg, it was the same plastic crap you get form the supermarket!

That said, as I'm arriving on Thursday I'll give a few of the places I haven't tried on your list a go, I might be surprised :-)

Along with 'Babel' which is opposite the church. Great tapas, friendly staff and the best Mojito's.

There are many more superb places to eat. Not all places have websites.

Don't just wander into the first place you see along a tourist strip. If you walk past somewhere and you hear locals blabbering away, it's a good bet.

Back in June was in a bar in Ibiza Town and asked the waitress for a recommendation. She came up trumps. Superb Tapas bar opposite the Ushuaia store in Ibiza Town. I think me and my mate were the only English in the place. Service was second to none too!

The rule of thumb for San An is: avoid the restaurants which start at the corner of the bottom of the West End and run all the way to the Egg roundabout. Those are the worst culprits for crap service & food. Always look busy because of their location. Unsuspecting first-timers get lured in.

There is a new a mambo owned place down there that opened this year, will be giving a try. Also forgot the Skinny Kitchen in San Antonio, great healthy food.

Itaca used to do nice food too. Been a while since I have been there but I'm sure its still just as good.
