Haven't seen many reviews for this so I'll add one. I loved it, always been a fan of the fusion between the dj mixing classic club hits and 'live' instruments, and it kept me dancing for 4 and a half hours straight on my first night. Not bad for a 33 yr old with one bottle of water.

Going back a few years, I recall walking to Kanya to see Hed Kandi, friends didn't want to make the trek to El Divino so I had to make do with the pre-party. I suppose make do is the wrong phrase, as it kicked arse then, if a little compact. I'm glad the event shifted from El Divino to Es Paradis though, great having it on the doorstep if you're staying in San Antonio. The only downside however, it didn't seem overly busy, but then, that's good if you want a bit of room to dance, but bad for Hed Kandi.

Music wise, well you just get lost and caught up in the extravagance. Lovely Laura on the sax is the highlight for me, as is the 'guy' on the bongos/drums who bangs them whenever the mood takes him. And, what more could you ask from the dancers apart from keep you moving, and looking sexy.

The event reminds me of Manumission, blew me away on my 1998 excursion, granted this is on a smaller scale, but nevertheless a visual and audio feast. Shall be hitting the event next year for sure. Here's Lovely Laura doing her thing:
