'Half Naked Girls in Acid House Sex Party'

Aah, the days of my youth in sunny East Lancashire, police beatings and all:lol:
Oh, and the tune is Hardcore Uproar by Twogether (one of the two guys responsible went on to be killed on a moped in Ibiza a year or two later).
And the raves featured were at Blackburn, neighbouring Accrington and Nelson in Lancashire.
We used to meet up at a club called Monroe's in Great Harwood and from there the legendary convoys would start. AND that was in the days of the £15-£20 pill!
You youngsters don't know you're born etc. etc.

a bit of a harsh punishment? it can't have been that bad a record surely?

A quality trip down memory lane8)

It reminds me of every Friday night about 16 years ago when we used to meet at "The Mall" pub in Bristol to get the "tip off" on where that's night rave was....We then used to drive out into the countryside and then follow the searchlights over some fields to get to the field of whichever poor farmer's land had been trespassed on for that night!
Then you'd walk onto the field be confronted by 3 large dogs (the fear of them often loosened the pockets for the contribution of a few quid) then waved forward into the "big top" tent.

It used to amaze me how good natured it all was with the police (they'd often just sit in their vans outside the field) and how well organised it was in terms of a proper sound rig and lighting set up.

It was mostly Acid that people took then (I never did) and it wasn't until about a year later that this "magic pill" appeared at £20 a go. I think the drugs had a lot to do with the music then as it was generally slower and much more bleepy at those raves, I remember hearing Fabio and Grooverider play at one party and there was one of those LED displays that shows a rolling message in big letters....It said "take an E" repeatedly across the screen!!

Everything was so good natured, trouble free and no harm to anyone, it just shows that legalising raves and commercialising things ruined a lot of the magic that went with the whole experience then.

Trip down memory lane over:oops:

What era you talking here Padster?

In 1989 / 90 we used to drive over from leeds to the Set End / Red Parrot from where a great many all night raves started out when the club shut @ 2.00pm. All kinds of venues were frequented. One quite memorable one was with a few hundred people assembled in a pitch black room, the music and lights came charging in on the back of a pickup and the party began :) It turned out the place was actually a disused cattle market! The youngsters don't know they are born with all night club hours these days :)
