Hi Everyone!

Hope all is well.

Had a quick question regarding half board and the Garbi Hotel. Sorry if these sound silly

Being a half board, this means you can pick Breakfast & dinner? Correct? Or any 2 of the 3 main meals? How about snacks? Is that included?

One last queastion, when going half board, are the allcohol drinks inlcuded?

If not, how are the prices at this hotel in terms of allochol? I know once you get in the city it is very $$$$, how about here at the hotel??

Cheers
Chip

h/b means breakfast and evening meal only no drinks inc.you can sometimes get a lunch by saying you on a trip but it means you will not be able to have a evening meal.no snacks inc as well.

not sure on drinks but you looking at 3.50 to 4 euro a pint.

Half board is almost always breakfast and dinner, and almost never includes drinks.

Looking at the hotel fast facts pages on Spotlight, I'd say it's pretty certainly breakfast and dinner here, and it doesn't mention drinks so they probably aren't included.

No reviews mention drinks prices either so they're probably not excessive for the area, but when my partner and I were in Ibiza earlier this month we definitely noticed prices had increased since our last visit 2 years ago.

Overall your thoughts on Garbi compared to Club bahamas? I have narrowed it down between these two with your help.

Looks like I will be going with the better half end of July for 10 nights! :p:p:p:p

On a side note, is there not a liquor store and can you not take "some" liquor on to the beach with no one noticing?? just curious.

Thanks Pete!

There are endless off licences to get alchohol and you can take as much as you want to the beach. I tend to fill up a cool box and get a lounger outside of Bora Bora during the day.

It may be worth mentioning here that drinks at breakfast will be included.
Chilled fruit juices, water, milk etc from dispensers, not stayed at the Garbi myself so not sure but I imagine they would do fresh squeezed OJ,sometimes you DIY.
And of course Tea and Coffee

I've stayed in Garbi for the past few years and love the place. It's a lot more conveniently located than Club Bahamas, I think, but the value proposition might be different as I believe Garbi is more expensive. Free hotel-wide wifi is the kicker for me.

Garbi rooms all come with fridges and there are 3 Spar supermarkets within a 1 minute walk so you can easily stock up your room with beverages. There is also a specialized liquor store about 3 minutes (2 blocks) away.

A half pint of draft at the bar costs 2 euros.

Half board definitely only breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is pretty decent. I only make it once a visit  but there's good selection of hot and cold foods plus fruit and juices. (I never saw fresh-squeezed though, Don, although you might be able to get it at the bar which is outside of the dining room).

I've never eaten dinner there as we usually do bed & breakfast and go out for dinner. I wonder if the difference in price is worth giving up the opportunity to sample the island's restaurants?

If you dont mind families and children then the Bahamas is a value choice. Its a little further out, not much mind, from the "centre" of PDB. The food is good for 3 star and you can upgrade to AI for about 20e per day where you can get Lunch as well as booze. It is a 5 min walk to Space, 10 mins to BB and has a bus stop outside. The rooms are a good size and have a fridge It is very clean and the staff work hard. The location on the beach and outside the main entrance is nicer than the Garbi

The Garbi is more of a clubbers hotel where you are more likely to meet like minded people. It is also similar distance to Space and BB. It is trendy and has a nice chilled out pool area where you are less likely to be splashed by kids on Lilos. I dont think they serve lunch at all. The beach front is not as nice as the Bahamas location and the road outside the front is a bit (only a bit, before I get shot down) tacky. It is very near to shops etc.

I would stay in both but prefer CB over G due to location and I prefer value for money over style.

You will pay maybe 50% more for the Garbi.
