Green Tourist Card To Offer Disco Discounts.
Last week an agreement between the big discos on the island & the Balearic Government's Green Environmental Tourist Discount Card Scheme was worked out. The big discos & their associated businesses such as the restaurants & fashion shops they own will supposedly support the Green Card by offering discounts to tourists who purchase this card from their travel agent or hotel. The card will not only give the tourist certain discounts it will allow them to get in free to certain environmental & cultural installations run by the Balearic Government throughout the Baleares. The money raised from selling the card will be used by the Balearic Government for environmental improvement projects. Though on the island there is not a lot of places the tourists can use the Green card to visit, it looks like it could sell well as getting discount entrance to the big clubs should make it attractive to tourists. Other businesses can join the scheme & offer discounts to tourists holding the Green card if they want to at any time by contacting the Balearic Government. Interestingly the representative of the discos said that he thought the now defunct "Ecotasa" environmental tax was a better system for financing environmental projects on the island rather than the Green card. However, the discos would do their bit to support this new environmental initiative of the Balearic Government.

I wonder how much the card costs and what kind of discount is applied to entrance fees. Worth looking into...
