I stayed it.
Grand Sol was a very good hotel when 3 mates and i stayed there in Aug 05. Everything was fine considering the good value the hotel offerer. Decent pool and bar area, full English breaky every morning, decent sized clean rooms with balcony and ceiling fan. I tend to holiday on a budget and i certainly would go back. It also has a fairly good location. Its a 5 min walk to the west end and cab ranks etc, but there are a few bars in the vicinity of the hotel anyway for a quick drink, and not forgetting the sunset bars Kanya and Sunset on the beach that are literally less than minute stroll away. A little further down are Cafe Mambo, and Cafe Del Mar.
I'd give it 4.5 stars out of 5 if you consider it in comparision to other hotels in its price range. We paid around £40 per twin room, per night.
