GPS Hotels and Riviera hotel

Anyone know the current situation with these hotels?
I read a number of worrying comments on here in regards to last summer and found out the riviera (booked for next month) is a part of the gps chain.

a few friends and my brother stayed at a gps hotel last year and to be fair they said it was fine i even spent a day enjoying their all inclusive drinking and couldnt complain.

my friend has booked us into a gps hotel this year yes you hear bad stories but the same can be said for 99% of cheaper accomendation.

Last year i stayed in an 18-30's hotel that had a bad rep and all 4 of us loved the place.

Algarb and Mare Nostrum are GPS hotels right? I've stayed in the Algarb twice, last year my only complaint was that we had all inclusive yet they would only serve us alcohol in small plastic cups. Food isn't great but it was enough to keep you going. Anyway in terms of service, room cleanliness and security it was all fine.

I've been to the Riviera and didn't like it, but as a base to stay I'm sure it'll be fine.

Hiya, I stayed at the Riviera last year and it was fine. I saw bad reviews about it as well and was kinda dreading it as my mate booked it, but the room was lovely and spacious, brilliant bathroom, balcony and air con. I agree with conkermon about the drinks as they are served in plastic cups smaller than a half, and the food wasnt amazing but theres plenty of it, and loads of restaurants 2 mins away if you fancy a change.

Algarb and Mare Nostrum are GPS hotels your right they are.GSP hotels are fine if your on a budget and not looking for 4 star hotel.basic some are but Algarb is one of the best i would say, even though i slagged it off years ago.its not bad.

You pay for what you get.GPS are just like easyjet etc.low cost hotels.

drink glasses were small but got 2 at a time (lager) and even got a shot of vodka in each lol

every year i go somewhere i read the reviews and hotels sound so bad but once get there find they are normally fine

stayed in a place in magaluf which had a terrible reputation but it was fine for me

same last year ibiza some 18-30 hotel cant remember name yet was a great little place bar staff kept giving us free shots lol

Some reviews I've read recently of last year were fairly damning- thefts, break ins, awful food etc. There have been fairly good reviews for this summer on trip advisor but then I alwyas take them with a pinch of salt.
Thanks for all the info- Cleanliness, security, good breakfast and some drinkable alcohol is all we require.
For the price we've paid for ALL IN I will be well happy with that- I prefer to get out and eat and drink.
