Goodbye Primrose Hill

well, mrs russ and i today have moved out of our little place in the heart of primrose hill.

feeling very sad and we are truly gonna miss the place. such a pretty street and a proper community/villiage.

I will miss the hill, regents park, the plethora of fabulous pubs and restaruants, the local shops and all the really great people we met over the last two years.

I don't think i will ever live anywhere as lovely again.

but its time to move on and we are today officially homeless. with any luck our new flat will be available in the next couple of weeks (long story but buying property is a nightmare and all solicitors are c.u.n..........ts.) in the meantime we are sleeping in friends spare rooms:evil: (but also quite 8) )

and no, we never did get invited to any of those 'parties' you read about in the papers.

I know the feeling. Pep and I lived for a year in the best apartment-neigborohood ever possible in Barcelona and still missing it.

Good luck and crossing fingers for those two weeks.
The British real state system it's really confusing to me , btw

......and the Millenium Dome

Was a lovely place you had there but hope the rest of the move goes ok and you and Sara have lots of years of happiness in your new place ;)

Did you get the landlady in the pub next door to scream at you as you left just for a laugh and because you'll miss her

Let's have a reunion picnic next year on the Hill 8)

Good luck with the move, russ.

It is tough leaving a neighborhood you love, though.... We've spent 5 years in a smaller apartment than we'd like, just because we don't want to move out of the immediate area. (Also, rents have gone through the roof and our landlords have been kind enough not to boost ours.)

In what part of town is your new flat located?

scott: at least once the purchase is agreed, things are pretty straightforward. we had our offer accepted in june and things are still 'going through'

johnnyM: we are gonna be in Tufnell Park

Kang: we went for a last swift one in the 'esses (as we 'locals' call it) last night and jane bought our drinks. tbh, her bark is much worse than her bite. yeah, lets go back for a picnic next summer, dont forget your 'magic carpet'

thanks for all you good wishes folks. i hope you will all still come and visit us in the wilds of north london:) :)

thats true - only minefield is the possibility that you end up buying a property for thousands more than the next highest bid

best of luck with finalising the new place - we're going to be looking to move soon - our place get more like a warzone every day

good luck with the move russ! you'll be living near my dad (he lives just down the road from arsenal tube station) so say hello if you spot someone that looks like an older version of me

Oh yes, the magic carpet  I'd forgotten about that one! You're on ;)

i'll echo that sentiment. i was practically in tears when i left stretford for ibiza. i still yearn for all the lovely pubs and restaurants i left behind there.
