Going to Ibiza in peak season???

I've been to Ibiza 2 times and am hooked. I've been at the same time each year.. at the beginning of September.. already thinking of next year and the only time I may be able to go is beginning/mid August. ( when everything is more expensive!)

I've really enjoyed the vibe during the time I've been, and it seems like most people on this board go either at the beginning or the end of the season, for the opening or closing parties.

whats it like peak season, in mid August for those of you who've been?
or even in July? do you get a much younger crowd with school being out for the summer?

Thank you! :D

Personally I've only been in August once (when people selfishly booked weddings which affected our Ibiza plans   ;) ) and I found it way too hot and busy (things like getting a taxi are a complete mare). You tend to get less 'proper' clubbers in August, you'll find they tend to go for Openings/Closings and a bit more of a beer boy/younger crowd in August who are attracted to the likes of the Radio One weekend.

So I wouldn't ever choose to go in August again, however if that's the only time you can go then you'll still have a good holiday.

Barbie's right, Ibiza in August is too busy, too hot and too expensive. Tho there weren't too many lager lager lager lads this year, even at Radio 1 weekend (well, maybe a few *cough* thousand at Mambo).

However Ibiza in August does feel like the centre of the clubbing universe. Every half decent party is packed from early on in the night and Bora Bora is particularly entertaining.

Also it's is a good month for villa parties, both pre-planned and spontaneous.

Perhaps the crowd's a bit younger but not so as you'd really notice. July's fun too.

So July's ok then? Looking like if ("if" ) we go next year, it will need to be July. The prices are so much highers though, at least you're assured excellent weather though, I suppose.

July's bearable, like August should be.

Then the island "leisure infrastructure" like transport, accommodation, sanitation come close to break down.

In July there are lots of good opening parties.

Thanks guys!

:? Hmnn.. if I'm coming trans-atlantic fo this don't know if I want that kind of experience.. maybe will have to re arrange things!

I have done both July and August, and have to say July is the better of the two options, specially early July. August is a nightmare for Q's, never enough taxi's to go round and you cant get moved in the clubs, took me 40 mins one year to get from the rooftop bar in Pacha back to the front of the DJ booth in the main room where I had left Mr PL..... I actually started to panic at one point - just could not move at all and was stuck on this little step being pushed and shoved from all angle's..... not pleasant...

If you have a choice, do July..... 8)

Last year August wasn't as busy as Id assumed it would be. There was a lot going on and to be honest, I don't think I have a preference. Next year Im gonna wait for the closing parties again, but I may yet nip out for a long weekend in August to get me in the mood (since I chose to not attend any R1 weekend events this year, Id like to see what like they are).

Hmnn.. am thinking maybe July then..

I was thinking about going end of June but some fo the nights haven't even started yet, like Carl cox's night.
Could perhaps live without that if i can go to the cocoon opening though.. or I could just scrap my plans and go again in September.. decisions, decisions..
