Compared to a lot of European countries, the supermarkets in Ibiza are very good at labeling products as being "Sin Gluten", however when going out to eat or drink the majority of places do not even understand what the word Gluten means. Consequently, for anybody who suffers from Coeliac disease or a wheat intolerance it can be a gamble as to wether you will eat or drink something which will make you ill.
Liquido bar in the marina of Santa Eulalia now offers gluten free beer, gluten free snacks and when we can source some good quality gluten free burger buns we shall be offering gluten free burgers. All our other drinks including the cocktails are naturally gluten free by design.
This post is partly a plug for my bar, but it is also to let anybody who suffers from Coeliac or a wheat intolerance know that there is somewhere in Ibiza where it can be guaranteed that you won't be poisoned. I know first hand how difficult it is to holiday in a foreign country when you have special dietary requirements and hopefully other bar & restaurant owners who read this will think about catering for those holiday makers who have to live with a restricted diet. It really isn't that difficult to do.
