Going back after a 5-year absence

So...what changes can I expect to see in August?

Interesting to hear that PDB now resembles Miami. Something I never thought I'd hear!

hey clara! been a while eh?

well yeah, PdB has changed quite a bit and will continue to change. basically the bit between bora bora and the don toni has changed a lot with ushuaïa, the ushuaïa tower and the hard rock hotel which opens in may this year. north of that and south of that not a lot is different (and the very southern end of that beach is still beautiful!). the crowd in pdb has also changed quite a bit, the percentage of british holidaymakers has gone up and also more people from countries that weren't present as much in ibiza before are staying in pdb...US, south americans, australians, asian and russian.

don;t forget the fountain island ?. a lot of hotels have had refits and afew new ones opened as well.not so many familys now as there used to be.a few bars changed hands or closed like moby dicks and down the street where the sports bar is.small market area where the chemist is and subway.far too many lucky men though still.Lights on the beach now from the algarb hotel down to the jetty where you get the boats. And a few new apartment blocks have been put up since then.along the beach front near jds bar.

Hello! Nice to see some of the same faces on here. It certainly has been a while...

I'm not actually staying in PDB, so was more wondering about the changes that have taken place in Ibiza as a whole over the last 5 years.

general changes...you'll see more hummers and other ridiculous cars driving around. a few of the back-then-in-places like km5, blue marlin, el ayoun etc either have changed a lot (km5 isn't as hot as it was), have closed (el ayoun) or have become even more posh (blue marlin).

a few new places are now very fashion - the high market places such as lio, cipriani and sacca.

apart from that, ibiza is as beautiful as always (as long as the oil platforms stay away) and there are still some really cool places and good restaurants to go of course :)

new bus stations at san an and ibiza town.better roads to get around faster.now you can walk round to sunset bars from the port at san an.list goes on.you never know what they have done really to you go again.and again and again.

moby dicks
since yesterday it's called pub don juan... if all goes according to the plan, in three months they will get the cafe concierto license and have live music regularly!

in related news, the rock music bar saxo nearby is rumoured to close for good soon due to the increase of the rent...
