Going back...6 years on!

Hello All!

So, I am back on this forum after a 6 year Ibiza hiatus!

I will be heading back to the White Isle mid June with my best friend who is from the US (but Scottish by birth :)) - she's an Ibiza Virgin and I can't wait to take her on some great nights that will beat "Spring Break" hands down!!

Trouble is I'm hopelessly out of touch these days and now I'm in my dreaded 30s so hope I manage to have the same stamina I had 6 years ago! My last trip to ibiza back in 2008 wasn't great- split with my Bf at the time on the back of it. We pretty much spent most of the trip squabbling and the whole trip left me with a bit of a sour taste so keen to make some new, pleasant Ibiza memories! I moved out to Dubai in 2009 and I've lived a very squeaky clean lifestyle this past few years..don't get me wrong there's quite a cool underground music scene here which is getting better all the time and attracting some great names but it just isn't the same in terms of the vibe/crowd...so I've definitely got some reading up to do!

Will be asking a few q's in the coming weeks and will be booking tickets via spotlight I'm sure. This will be an interesting trip with just 1 friend. She's absolutely stunning so hoping she might get us q jumping wherever possible! :D She's great fun though so sure we'll be getting up to some mischief!

We like different things music wise but one things for sure- we'll definitely be doing Hed Kandi as awful as it sounds- pure cheese but always a good laugh and girly...everyone always has a smile on their mush! Sad to hear El Divino is no longer though :( I've never been to Es Paradis!

I went last summer at 35. I hung like I was 18 years old. I was crippled for two weeks after my trip though.

Enjoy your trip. I know this year is my last time. Bachelor party!!!
 
Ahhhh amazing! That's exactly what I plan to do- go out with a bang like I'm 18 again because I'm probably never going to go back in all fairness!!

Enjoy your trip too, and I hope the recovery is speedy!! :)
 
Going of topic a wee bit but I was there last year and I was 37 giving this year a miss and going back in 2015 so I'll be near the big 40 , I think ibiza is a place were age doesn't matter to much you just get a bit more sensible about things :) When your out clubbing no matter what age you are you'll always see someone older than you which does make you feel better , the love of the island just keeps bringing you back no matter what age you are
 
good to know so many people feel the same about ibiza.....when I turned 30 every year was my "last". but shit...can't go anywhere else, love that island
 
If you liked all the cheese 6 years ago then you'll have a great return visit. If however you remember Ibiza's carefree heyday, you'll want to weep. Really depends on what kind of holiday you want, I guess

You can never get enough from this island and age is definitely not a show stopper!!! I'll be there June 20th for one week, which area are you staying at? I'll be at playa d'en bossa, morning time and god knows where after mid-day :)

It's reassuring to hear from many that age ain't nothing but a number in wonderful Ibiza :)
I feel a bit embarrassed for saying this but ahem..we're staying in San an bay! We're a bit back from all the hoo ha of San an but close enough to hop down to mambo and cafe del mar etc...it's my friends first time, I'm sure she'll find it interesting!!
What nights are you going to try? Or are you an ad hoc person?!

This makes me sad :(

Well for me, I just want to have a fun and carefree break- quite girly! Don't want to go back in a body bag or too hanging back into Dubai so I think I'll probably be a bit more sensible this time. I like cheese but want to try a few dirty nights too eg: sankeys, dc10. Not sure how well this will go down with my pal though!

Fingers crossed I don't come back too disappointed!

Haha it wouldn't surprise me if I did come back! I recently read a great review on here from a South African girl who was reviewing her holiday which she took with her hubby, sister and young daughter! She obviously managed to combine a clubbing holiday with a family vibe pretty well so it can be done, no matter what your circumstances are!! There's hope yet :)

I agree that Ibiza has no age limit, I went for the first time in 2010, when I was 29, (very late), but have been every year since, including for 5 months in 2012 and another 5 months this summer, where I'll be celebrating my 33rd birthday.
there is plenty of fromage on the island, but still a lot of good underground nights too, so you'll be OK.

Also, don't say you're never going back after this trip, because you'll probably want too ;)
 
You should download rave machine FUSION's latest Ibiza megamix. It's exactly 6 years long and amazingly features every track released over the same period of time. So by 2020 you will be completely up to date on the current scene and will be set to rave like its 2014 again.
 
Yeah, fusion is da man. Gets about more than a ramblas whore. And his megamixes are now cult institutions. Quantity not quality, baby! As for underground, word of mouth parties, can someone PM me the name of one? Hunted high/low last summer but they proved more elusive than saddam's nukes
