What utter crap. Strongly advise anyone who has even considered watching this movie to keep a safe distance. Even the brief appearances of people like Shearer, Beckham and Zidane couldn't save this film. My wife and I were laughing hysterically by the end, it was so bad.

Perfect example of how a halfway decent premise can be utterly destroyed by Hollywood-style moviemaking. I firmly believe that US filmmakers are occasionally capable of producing truly quality films, but they also produce so much drivel. Case in point.
 
I thought "Bend it like Beckham" was a pretty good movie for a soccer flick....the one chick was quite "do-able" but I think she was a subtle lesbo carpet muncher.

That was a British production. I quite enjoyed it, despite it being another twist on the clash-of-cultures-in-England theme. Compared to Goal!, it was a better movie with much better acting (and Keira Knightly :D )
 
all soccer flicks suck the big one,bend it like beckham is cancer for the eyes escape to victory was shit but in a good way cos it had ossie ardiles in it and sly stallone pretending he can play football 8)

Have you seen this film "The Manager"? I've yet to watch it but the missus thought it was great.

What was that soccer movie with Pelé that was based on a Nazi WWII prisoner of war camp...the one where the germans kicked their bloody arses?

That was a good flick....I love movies where the germans win.

I just looked it up. The movie was called "Victory" and it also had Michael Caine. It was voted best soccer movie of all time.

Good flick.

According to the synopsis I just read, the Germans lose (which is why they shoot the POWs) :roll:
