Glasto 2010

I am still feeling proper, proper wrong today, it being my first day back at work probably has something to do with that though. :(

AMAZING weekend as always:- wall to wall sunshine, wall to wall good attitudes, wall to wall great music. Afterhours were bigger and better than ever, Block 9 being the most impressive, the Arcadia stage went off every night, the Pyramid was always full, the Stone Circle was beyond amazing from midnight til daybreak, the park area was a great chillout as always, we camped next to a great bunch of lads from Manchester and had a blast, our spot was right near the Other Stage so didn't even need to move to hear the acts. Faithless were great, Stevie Wonder was magnificent, Michael Eavis cannot sing, England are ****e, i lost my voice shouting at the big screen (which incidentally was sited in a field perfect for a big new stage!).

The amount of magical moments at Glastonbury are unbelievable, they kind of just end up melting into one big magical experience, and you forget as much as you remember, i will def be going back next year and every year that it's on for as long as my body can handle it! Bestival to look forward to now....

Yep - summed it up better than I could yesterday.

Glasto hasn't lost it at all. As a 90s veteran I think it's moved with the times...yeah, could do with more bona fide crusties and less of the middle classes but that's more than been made up for in recent years with the addition of creative collectives like Block 9.

The Downlow is officially my fave dancing spot in the world - consistently delivering top notch music and a home-from-home atmos for the past three years.

Feeling a tad corpse like today (and busy...moan, groan) but staying afloat with regular reminders of the odd tranny anecdote. Hysterical.

Stevie Wonder was magic, Muse rocked it and I had the pleasure of a short but very sweet intimate dalliance with Scissor Sister's own Mr Shears. Am now suffering with teenage crush of ridiculous proportions.

Best Glasto ever? Dunno - they've all been as good as each other for very different reasons.

Sod the boutique festivals argument. I'm going to Out of the Ordinary for my crusty fix later in the year but it won't be a patch on this. Secret Garden last year was w@nk in comparison. Far too many posh people quaffing champagne. Ugh.

Glasto IS the best festival in the world. Nothing else has ever come close for me. Relaxing by the Downlow on a Sunday afternoon with trannies running around and Felix Dickinson providing the music proves this point.

It's underground, commercial, spiritual, chavvy, crusty, niche, up it's own ar$e, self deprecating and loads more, all wrapped up in the same package.

Everyone can find their own niche here and it merely puts up a mirror to the haters. What's not to like ffs?

Roll on 2011. 8)

Rob, how impressive was that building opposite the downlow with the train blasting out of the top??? The production just gets better and more epic every year, what will they do next?! The club in there was really cool too, spent several hours in there bouncing to some superb dancehall style reggae on the Sunday night. 8)

good stuff chaps - saw some of Stevie on the telly but far preferred pet shop boys and gorillaz - although probably a bit pointless telling that to people who were actually there!

would like to have seen Foals and heard Four Tet DJ set

fab review from Milo here > http://www.djhistory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56993&page=8

also been catching with Macca gig at Hyde Park - must admit to welling up when he sang blackbird

registration is open for next year already.
Saw PetShopBoys on tv looked amazing , which is funny cos as a teenager i thought they were literally the worst band in the world and couldnt understand why anyone would buy their music:oops::oops:

Good read. 8)

It was a great weekend this year. I think the Glasto 'over commercialised' snobbery is over now. Justified as it was, the DiY ethos of the 90s has now evolved into something new (albeit expensive, government controlled and blanketed with CCTV).

I still get very annoyed that this festival is only for privileged people with £200+ to spare.

But that moan out of the way, the last three years have proven that no other outdoorsy experience can come close.

Pet Shop Boys were bloody good - and I REALLY wanted to see George Clinton so am happy to read that they weren't that good this time around. 8)

Missed the Foals this time but caught them last year.

Roll on next year. :(

Must re-register while I'm remembering.

this is my obligatory "definitely gona actually go next year" post.
That guy's review sounds like the sort of popper induced merryment that i love!
