Gibraltar to ibiza?

Hi there, I am researching how i might get from Gibraltar to Ibiza for future trip.
There don't seem to be any direct flights or ferries so i am looking into the simplest way, mixing trains, ferries or flights.

So far i have come up with popping over to Algeciras, taking the train to madrid then flying to ibiza.

Can anyone advise me if there is a better way?

Thats quite a challenging route! As I'm sure you know transport in Gibraltar is challenging as there is that ongoing political dispute.

In terms of flights I am a little shocked to only see flights that go direct to the UK and none to Spain. I would say your best bet is to find a train and get yourself to Barcelona or Madrid and catch your flights from there. flights from MAD or BCN to IBZ are very cheap. Your problem is train routes and Gibraltar doesn't have a solid train arrangement either unfortunately :(

Or your alternative is to catch a 2 hour flight to a UK airport and catch a connecting flight to IBZ. In all honesty, if time is of the essence this may prove to be your fastest way of getting there.

ps the S M T W T F S represent which days the flights leave gibraltar.

Thanks, I would prefer a journey that doesn't take me back to GB even if it does take longer as I'm toying with the idea of a quick wedding in GIB and honeymoon on the white isle. A quick car/bus ride from GIB to algeciras then a train to Madrid, flight to IBZ seems the best bet so far. i was just wondering whether there was a way perhaps to get the train through spain to denia then take the ferry across or maybe a ferry from another port closer to GIB.
 
Thanks Craig, direct flights from malaga to Ibiza don't show up on skyscanner but i see that Ryanair do run them frequently during the summer.
