Getting to Es Cavallet Beach...

We are probably not hiring a car this year and are staying at Playa Den Bossa in September, we would like to go to Es Cavallet nudist beach on a regular basis for sunbathing and wondered if there is a bus service from Playa Den Bossa to Es Cavellet?

Any info gratefully recieved....

Apologies in advance for the vagueness of this answer as I don't have any maps or bus info with me at the moment . . .

However, the best way to get to Es Cavallet beach by public transport is by bus from Ibiza Town. The good news is that even though the bus does not go via the centre of PDB is does skirt the edge of it.

If you walk out from PDB about 10 mins to the main road you can catch the bus there (I think the area is called Crucis) which stops you having to go to Ibiza Town only to have to almost retrace your route.

The bus stops at Salinas from where you can walk to Es Cavallet. Alternatively you can get off a few stops earlier and skirt the salt pans on foot to the beach. The driver will be able to point this out. There is a shop on the right hand side of the road where the bus stops.

Again, apologies about the lack of exact info but this should give you a start.

Have fun at the beach, I love it there.

the buses are being diverted along the san jose road while the new airport road is in construction so they don't pass close to pdb at the moment

Take a cab from PDB. Well worth it at 8 euros. It drops you off in the car park of Es Cavallet. After you're done in Es Cavallet, take a walk along the cliffs to Chiringay, then Sa Trinxa and then Salinas. At the end of the Salinas car park there is a store where the bus to Ibiza town stops, but if you'd missed the last bus you can get another cab. :)

PDB - Es Cavallet

There are buses that can get you to Es Cavallet. The bus stop is a San Jordi Cruz - a temporary bus stop until the road works are completed. However, if you go down to the car hire place on the way to the waterpark/space - you can hire a bike which will take you about 20 mins to cycle to Es cavellet. It gets cheaper the longer you hire. Alternatively, get a taxi there and walk back to the main road and catch the bus back. You can get off and on the bus outside the little supermacado C'an Tixedo - this shop does not close for siesta anymore so you can see about catching the 1600 bus and getting a cold drink from the shop first. I only found out last year that there are 2 buses at 1800, we always caught the 1700 bus because we were scared of not getting on the last bus (watch out for the german queue jumpers)

We found that for a 14 day stop the bike hire was better because it gave us more flexibility - we went shopping in Lidl and another little supermarket in Ibiza which saved us a small fortune out of out self catering budget. Fresh fruit for lunches on the beach was the best saving.

The road down from the airport roundabout to Cavellet is reasonably safe. We had no problems with traffic just a reluctance to pedal when it was hot. We actually got our journey time down to 15 mins by the end of the holiday. You can lock the bikes to the posts at the car park at Chiringuito's.

Have a good time, Es Cavellet is probably the best beach on the island but so few visitors take the opportunity to visit it.
