Getting from Girona Airport to Barcelona Airport

Hey all, this is a question for the mainlanders of Spain. I have a few friends that are meeting me in Ibiza and I booked them to fly into Girona, as its cheaper, and then fly from Barca to Ibiza. My question is what is the best way to get from Girona airport to Barcelona airport and back?? Any suggestions? They have about 5 hrs in between flights, so I'm hoping that it is enough time. I read that Girona to Barca city centre is like an hr by bus and then 20 min from there to the airport.

Any help would be great!

Thanks but you think 5 hrs is too close? Way I figure it is that travel to Barca from Girona is max 2 hrs if they say a train is 70 minutes. Then it's like 20 minutes from Barca city centre to the airport by train isn't it?? Please tell me if I'm missing something here!
 
My advice:

Take the bus from Girona to Estació del Nord
Take the red line (follow that link instructions) and leave at Plaça Catalunya to take the blue bus to the airport. The bus stop it's in front off El Corte Ingles, a massive department store.

From Girona to BCN it's one hour aprox, then from Estació del Nord to the Airport should take you 1 hour as a very max

There's train option but I don't recomend it, there's eternal big works at the main station and there's lots of delays and they risk to loose their flight

I hate to say this but five hours may not be enough time to get luggage and make a 1 hour 20 minute trip. I have had to wait almost 2 hours for baggage alone. I don't want 2 rain on your parade but 5 hours is cutting it close. I think my op only that if things go wrong or there is a delay; they could miss the flight 2 Ibiza
 
Oh man... well I sincerely hope that that doesn't happen this time for their baggage.

Thanks for all the help from both of you. I like the bus suggestion and the redline. So basically go from Girona to Barcelona Nord and then hop on the Red Line to Placa Catalunya then walk to the bus stop in front of the department store to take the blue bus to Barcelona airport right? Very glad you told me about the train delays as that woulda screwed it all up!

So Silvia, was I right in understand ur suggestion in my previous post regarding the trains and redline and buses?

Si, that's right.
Plaça Catalunya is a main central undergroun / train / fcc / bus station, there's lots of exits and any will be fine, just look for the dept stores and the blue buses and they are done. The ride from there to the airport is about 20 - 30 minutes so they have plenty of time
