gas certificate scam?

Hi guys

some bloke rang today on our newly installed land line, reckons he wants to check the pipe and issue a 5 year certificate, he knew our name and address and everything, but the owners of the house do not have a gas contract.

on the mainland where we normally live, this often turns out to be an expensive legal scam by a third party company.
is this the same here??

after 13 years in spain i am yet to behold the phenomena of perished orange gas pipe, but i will keep an open mind on it, even though i think that stuff will survive a nuke

sounds like gas scammerman has access to people that have ordered new phone land lines, I would guess that gas scammerman is hoping you are new to spain and are open to being screwed over. As I am in need of a land line in the not so distant future I shall bear this in mind and shall indeed not be screwed over. Maybe worth a letter in the press??

hi there, the phone is ringing all the time, people trying to flog crap, i have unplugged it, i only wanted the adsl anyway, i have a feeling that its not illegal here to pass ones info to 3 rd parties, the pragmatic attitude regarding breaking the law, i cant be bothered writing to anyone to be honest.
