fuel costs

Hi, sorry if I have missed this on another post - can anyone advise on fuel costs please? We are hiring a basic 3 door economy car for the 8 days we are there in September, picking up and dropping off at the airport and plan on being out and about most days. Not sure if it's petrol or diesel, but I'm trying to get an idea of how much it will roughly cost as I'm trying to plan my cash! Thanks in advance!
 
With most places after 3 days rental you buy the tank in advance and take it back as empty as you can. Be roughly 70+ euros probably.
 
Most of time it's Diesel..Yes, take care with this 3 days Policy rule with tank full & get it empty at the end(don't like this Policy , enjoy more full tank begin & full tank ending)..i've rent 4 days (21 day & 4days as i've change my ibz trip (adding 4 days))...84€ a full tank..i nearly use 1/4...but they refund me after insisting twice & tell them if they don't i will blacklist them (60€ saved 8))...as it will be 8 days for you, i guess you 'll make miles in order to empty the tank...

I find it quite hard. If the car is equipped with a diesel engine, usually it can travel 800-1000 km in a tank. On a gas engine, probably 500-650 km a tank depends on the car.
How much driving can you do in 4 days to burn all the fuel in the tank?

I rather opt out the policy where you prepaid for a full tank. I just bring it back full when I return the rental car.
