friday august 10, manumission and others

So…as manumission moved to amnesia, i really thought i’d should take a look at this. But I didn’t start my Friday night there. First, I went to privilege, because I was as curious as well, how busy the original manumission place would be on this night. Basically, Privilege had announced their 14th birthday party only a bit more than 24hours prior to the party and so I was quite sceptical. But I was well surprised, how busy it was! At around 3am, both the main floor and the cocoloco room were really busy and everyone was having a good time. This was one of the parties where people did not come for the dj’s – because they hardly were announced at all and still had a blast. Sure, by now I know that all these “official” celebration parties (such as openings, birthdays, closings) always attract quite a lot of locals, but still I never would have expected privilege to be such busy that night. The free shots and b’day cake at the entrance were nice, too!

And yes, then I made my way to amnesia and directly to the terrace, where manumission was happening. Well, I have a split opinion about it. I can positively say, manu happening on amnesia terrace (one of the most beautiful dancefloors available IMO) was very nice – the room just looked great! But on the other hand, manumission only happening in one room is quite strange and looked more like “minimission” to me. I mean, one of the main reasons people going to manumission year after year is the fact, that it is SO huge and there’s something going on everywhere, in every corner of every room. And that was not the case last night. Sure, the manu staff (who did a great job – this is for sure!!) also had to do their utmost possible to make it even happen and the dancers were as hot as ever (see pic), but as you can imagine – it was really quite different. I am curious what other manu-goers think about it, let’s wait for more reviews and I am really curious If the situation will stay like this for the rest of the season or if there will be any more changes. The main room, where made in italy was happening, could definitely do as a second manu-room, but alright, made in italy was here first (and for years already), so they might not be happy changing day or venue! Affaire à suivre!

To finish my giro d’ibiza, I suddenly found myself in front of space, where I first had to decide, wheter I want to take the left entry and go to la comunidad (and kompakt in the red box) or the right one which leads to Azuli on Friday nights. (for Thursday nights, where xtravaganza and spinclub are happening, there is only one entry and you can access both areas, but not on Fridays) As azuli is new, I decided for this and went to have a look on the main terrace

The music was electro-housey (with chris lake and kurd maverick on the lineup for that night), the people were having lots of fun and the terrace was nicely busy. I was too tired to have a boogie though and called it a night after my chupito de hierbas…buenas noches!

Manu will be next year @ Amnesia on Fridays in the main room too...Made In Italy will be gone;)
there is also a big possibility of Armada changing venue...

nothing.i just said it.
there is also a small possibility of Made In Italy leaving Amnesia before the end of the season...but it's a small one so far.
Next season will be a season of (music)changes for Amnesia ;)

how busy was it in the main room for made in italy? also, how much was it to get in? i am planning on going to made in italy when im over in a few weeks which i believe is a relatively cheap night, i hope i dont have to pay 50 euros cause manumission have set-up camp on the terrace.

Manumission just isn't the same at another venue! I can't imagine it anywhere else but Privilege!

paul, the main room in amnesia (= made in italy) was busy, but far from packed yesterday night. no idea about the prices though!

sound like a lot of people went to Privilege regardless of Manu moving. i expect Amnesia to get more packed on fridays...but i agree with everyone that Manu is best experienced at Privilege.

Is It Worth It

I am seeking some advice here then...Is Manumission worth it at Amnesia?

I am coming from Australia and one of the reasons was Manumission @ Privelage. Do they still have the shows, is it scaled down to fit into Amnesia? I don't really want to come all that way and be disappointed? The reviews of the shows have been amazing and I would love to experience it.

I am just about to buy my tickets so would love to hear people's thoughts and advice. Happy to go elsewhere on Friday night?

so basically you just make stuff up and cite it as ¨small possibilities¨ ?
take a closer look.i said that made in italy won't be at amnesia next year...for sure.i said that there is a small possibility to change venue even before the end of this season.i said it because it's just a possibility and small so far.
now about armada and its move its more possible but nothing can be said for sure as this season hasn't even ended.
to end this thing...i certainly don't make things up.believe it when you see it.

iv already contacted the site i bought my manumission closing ticket from and asked for a refund,im already going to amnesia the 3 nights before..not worth 50euro for just the terrance.
