French strikes

Just thought I'd warn people about the French Air controllers striking, doesn't seem to be newsworthy in the UK media. I, along with my fellow passengers, boarded our flight yesterday, only to be told by the Captain we'd be sitting there for over an hour whilst they negotiate a 'slot'.

This morning my Mother flew to Malaga, flight delayed by an hour, then took three hours flight time, having to avoid certain areas.

Good point Hywel:

The same can be said for over here as far as the French news coverage is concerned and what seem's like a news blackout. Reason being they began striking on 15/09 and expected too last until the 23/09 but with a National French General Strike also planned for the 23/09 anyone booked for flying during this periods should remain calm and 8).

The missus and i are flying out tomorrow @ 17:20 with Vueling from CDG Paris - Ibiza so i'm hoping that we're not delayed by to much as we're only staying in Ibiza for the week thus even a 5/6hr delay can at the best of times be disruptive.
