Thanks to everyone who made it down to the rainbow on Sunday 3rd. This daytime party was a breath of fresh air (literally) to the flagging Birmingham scene.* The crowd was cool and friendly, whilst the queue for the bar was lighter than our debut thanks to the Rainbow having more bar staff to cope with demand.
The atmosphere on the packed terrace was amazing all day and it was good to see Birmingham folk feeling the beats so much that most forgot about work the next day and stayed to the end at well past midnight to applaud a faultless day of music.

2005 is turning into a very busy year for Simon Baker. As a DJ his reputation is fast-growing and he is now being compared musically to acclaimed djs such as M.A.N.D.Y, DJ T, Steve Bug etc. He currently holds residencies at a number of the UK’s top underground house nights including Asylum @ Mint Club, Leeds; Tribal Sessions @ Sankey’s Soap, Manchester and, Deep, Down & Dirty @ The Key, London.* He has just returned from a fine set at the infamous Basics party at Snowbombing in Austria.
Simon is also one half of Leeds highly rated production duo (alongside Alex Grzybowski), ‘The Liptrick’, signed to Ralph Lawson’s 20:20 Recordings, whose first release, the ‘Liptrick EP’ found it’s way into the bags of Tiefschwarz, Damian Lazarus and Dan Ghenacia to name a few.* Simon is currently busy in the studio putting the final touches to the eagerly anticipated follow-up, ready to be played on the most discerning decks this summer.
