When you get to formentera on the boat trip where is best to go when on the island example best beaches food ect ?

Is there a bus to get to theses places or is walking distances ok?

Hola Taylor,

Please use the search option above for Formetnera, there's hundreds of posts with very usefull info about Formentera.
My advice is read them carefully and then if you still have any question ask here.

It depends where the boat drops you off. If you get the ferry to la Savina then there is an abundance of car/moped/push bike hire outlets, take your pick. if you don't have transport then you wont see much from there but the ferry ride over is almost worth it on its own, just to see Ibiza from offshore or the beauty of Formentara as you approach.
Taxi's are an option but not cheap, i did once get a taxi down to Mijorn beach and then asked him to pick me up again 5 hours later at the same spot, well worth it but mucho dinero!
if you get a tour boat across then you may get dropped off at the edge of Illettas beach and have a short wade through the water to shore, you will instantly find yourself on a fantastic beach ( you won't need clothes ), but don't expect any excitement there, its just beaches and a couple of excellent restuarants to while away the hours.
If your serious about seeing the island then get some transport sorted, get a guide book and find your own adventures my friend, you will get much more from the island that way.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info!

What sort of price does it cost there and back?
Anyone know the times the boat go and return?

Cheers 8)

there are boats going from San An and Ibiza Town. The one I saw in San An went about 10 and returned at about 5 and I think it was between 20 and 30 euros. Sorry can't be more precise.

Formentera trips

I know you get a high speed boat from Ibiza town which takes less than half an hour.
I've only been from Sta Eulalia. Boat leaves 9.30am and takes around an hour and a half to get there (picks up in Calla Llonga as well) Think it leaves Formentera around 4.15 but depends on drop off point. You can get dropped in the main harbour or at Ses Illetes beach. (boat 27 Euros)
If you just want to stay on the beach as Ses Illetas, go prepared with Sun brolly, drinks etc or plenty of cash for the reaturant/bar which enjoys it's monopoly.
The Circuito Bus ticket costs 9Euros and is designed to give a bit of an island tour starting from the harbour, dropping off at the main beach for a few hours, then travelling across the island to the main scenic view points and getting you back in time for the return boat.
The moped seems the most common form if transport on Formentera - there are parking areas near the beaches with hundreds of them! A few weeks ago, dozens were destroyed in the same place by a fire!

Can anyone confirm that there are sun loungers and sun brolleys on the beach in Formentera to hire,as we wouldn't want to lie on a beach without, also is it advisable to bring your own food and that as ive heard it can be quite expensive there?

It depends which part of the island you go to - some of the beaches are quite touristy so yes you can get sunbeds etc and there will be odd restaurant on the beach but I've not found them overly expensive but we do always take a few drinks/snacks with us as well.

We normally go to Playa Mitjorn where the Blue Bar is and there's no sunbeds there but I prefer it cos it's so peaceful, plus the Blue Bar does really good inexpensive food.

We took the ferry form Ibiza town this year although we were staying in San An. The ferry leaves every half hour approx and you get a choice of the time to return upto 9pm i think. We found the bus service pretty good. Went to Es Pujols (2nd stop after illetes). Loved it! Not too expensive for food and drinks if you choose the right places. I would recomend Formenterra trip to anyone! Enjoy

Is it possible to go hiking on Formentera? Any ideas for a good walk, maybe taking in a beach or two?

I'm sure there is, we were only on one beach Ses Illetes i think it was called and stayed there the day, next time ill go explore the island a bit more, i was still a bit spaced from the previous night so wasn't up to doing much but lying on the beach this time around.
