formentera ferry question..

does anyone know if it's definitely right that i would have to board the ferry in ibiza town 2hrs before departure if i have a bike??? it seems a bit extreme to be sitting on a ferry for 2hrs prior to departure when the actual trip only takes 30 mins...

also, where is the Balearia ticket office in ibiza town? i'm going to buy my return ticket online today or tomorrow and i think i have to either print it out myself or use the check-in kiosk...

:)

no. i've seen people just walking on - though i think the bike has to be stored in the car area. the office is right by the ferry terminal under what used to be blues and the manumission burger bar, where the monument is.

thanks... :) i think i know where the office is now and i found the section on the website that says passengers with a vehicle ( i assume a bike would come under this ) need to be on 90 mins before departure... still sounds very extreme.. was hoping to have about 5hrs exploring Formentera but at this rate i'll be lucky if i get 3hrs...

hopefully i can just walk on and off with my bike about 15/20 mins before departure but i'm not sure if i want to risk it...

anyone else actually done this and do they mind if you have?

:)

EDIT:

got this from the site...

The latest time for collecting the boarding card is:
For foot passengers is 60 minutes prior to the ferry departure time (A part from the service Ibiza-Formentera where the boarding begins 15 minutes before of the departure).
For passengers travelling with a vehicle is 90 minutes prior to the ferry departure time.

surely i would be fine with a bike...

a bike isn't a vehicle. cars and wagons take ages to load, especially if the ferry is bound for more than one destination and they have to back trucks up the ramp so they're facing the right direction for getting off. don't worry about any of that for formentera

before taking the ferry for formentera,be sure that the captain is not drunk,or italian 8)
