Unfortunately yes - this was close enough before the fire jumped the road

taken in July one year - whole hillsides of forest have disappeared all around the north of the island and around Ibiza Town

Yes I saw one last year near Es Canar between it and Portinatx. Really serious, planes flying over all day dropping water. Quite spectacular, but after returning this year I noticed a massive patch of charred forest which was quite sad really.

Must be traumatic for those living in the hills affected, cause it seemed to spread suprisingly fast!

Sickest bit of news I heard a couple of years ago was a man found dead on top of a hilltop - in full scuba gear!
Those planes and helicopters scoop up thousands of gallons of sea water to drop on the fires and that poor s#d was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Seriously?

saw a big fire in san antonio about june 6th or 7th. planes and helicopters were dumping water on it most of the day and it made the front page of the newspapers the following day.

Hello everyone,

it just goes to prove that the vandal's are everywhere as it's a proven fact that 95% ( the other 5% are bored firemen who want more overtime hence more pay & home owner's who probably have debt's on there home & want to claim their insurance on the property ) of all forest fires around the med region are caused by discarded cigarettes or bottle's left lying around, of which at some point, end up getting smashed or broken making the pieces act like a magnifying glass.

Tony, i heard a similar story to your's concerning a german female tourist who was sucked up ( accidently ) by a canadair as she was swimming of the coast near Antibes in the S.of. France, needless too say that her charred remains were found a few day's later up in the hills where the fire was concerntrated, around the Antibes region.

Still i hope Ibiza remains free of such horrible event's this summer & for all the summer's to come, along with the other region's of the med as once nature is destroyed we can't give it back.

dia de fiesta feliz:D
