cockroaches leave their hideout if it's too hot

But this was in an air-conditioned office. I was definitely a target after a cockroach-killing rampage.

One night a couple of weeks ago I found one stunned one halfway up the door, killed that.

Then saw another one in the ablutions area, killed that too. Flushed 'em both.

As I was at my desk a short while later I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I looked down, carried on with work. Then I saw something the size of a small mouse scuttle to the cover of the next desk.

This next bit is completely true - a huge cockroach emerged from under the desk and ran straight for me. I barely had time to get my flip flop off so I could battle.

I won, but only just.

Their holes are in the walls and the walls get direct sun heat, I think they look for a cooler place, like every other living being in summer
