Flights Question

I've just been checking some flights in case hypothetically speaking we go next year

Easyjet won't be released for a couple of months so just checking with Thomson, the times are perfect for us and are only coming in at £87 but there's a £50 fuel supplement to pay, has anyone else ever had to pay this before, is this a new law?? I know I've never paid it with Easyjet or Thomson before :?

Every time we book a package deal they always slam on a fuel supplement in the past 2 years....sly buggers

I wonder if it's cos Thomson flights are also used by those on packages then, sneaky

TBH Sar, I've only noticed it going on in the last month or so since hurricane Katrina. Bet it doesn't go back down tho. :?

when I was looking at flights a while back, I see they're charging you left right and center for things, on option was "would you like to be seated together?" @ £10 pp wtf is that all about

its because of the massive hike in oil/petrol/fuel prices. When I booked my holiday for Sept. I was told when looking at flights, book today, from 9.00pm tonight, because another fuel charge supplement is going to be added - that was beginning of Sept.

You will be seeing this on all flights going forward now. All airlines are taking this forward *(including Easyjet) :?

Cunts. f***ers. Bastards!

(They have all been beeped I would imagine!)

Fuel charge, airport tax, extra charge for having oxygen on board etc. All these add ons that you have to pay anyway should be included in price straight away. One classic example is FlyBmi.

I was able to get flights to Aberdeeb from Heathrow for £14 return. However once you go through to the final screen for booking, it's up to £100 with tax etc!

Bollox, that's what I say.

The majority of the Airlines have increased their fuel surcharges due to the recent increase in oil prices. Most have a policy that they will only reduce these charges again if the oil price goes below a certain level and remains below that level for 30 consecutive days.
Oil is currently around $66 a barrel. I know some of the airlines have a level of below $55 for reducing fuel surcharges again.....which isnt likely to happen in the near future.

I booked two flights to Brazil recently and used air miles to pay for them. Still had to pay the taxes and fuel surcharges and they came to £200 each!!!

Thanks peeps, I hadn't put 2 and 2 together with the oil connection

So really there's no point neccessarily waiting for Easyjet flights if all the bastards are going to be adding this excess

BA flights are also available now. I checked yesterday and with the surcharges they were coming in at around £110 each

That's pretty good, i'd definately rather pay a bit more for BA than travel with the chav masses on Bmi/sleazyjet etc :D Plus when you fly home and get on a BA aeroplane it's like getting on a little bit of England :D

Actually just remembered, don't BA codeshare on the London-Barcelona/Valencia-Ibiza routes with Iberia? :?

Lol @ us already checking flights for next year  ;)

I saw the BA ones as well but I prefer Easyjet/Thomson flight times cos they fly early in the morning so you effectively get another day there.

I could be wrong (I often am lol) but I think thats so people can get the cheapest no frills flights possible. If you want those (so called) perks - you pay extra, if ya on a budget - ya dont have em

Iberia isn't as good as BA :P

I think I would prefer to fly with Easyjet - BA have a habit of changing the flight times as we found in June and nearly missed Bucker's party because of it!

Have also been looking at flights this morning - reading everyone's posts about their time in September has set me right off

I'm talking about the direct BA flight from Gatwick. We travelled on the via Barcelona flight this weekend, and after that I will never ever be doing a flight where I have to change

Not that it will make much difference to you, but dont forget to take into account that the World Cup is on next year (Fri 9th June to Sunday 9th July). I always find June is so much quieter in the year of a World Cup or European Cup.

 Tom has already informed me of dates, we've been there for World Cups and European Championships before and Tom quite likes watching them over there. So does that mean we're not going to have our annual June trip over there at same time??
