my old fishing partner rex hunt once said to me 'stephen, structures.'
meaning that fish like to swim under things like jetties. there are lots all round san antonio bay with sea bream - they feed on the surface so no need for a float if you use bread as bait - and grey mullet which feed about a metre down. you can buy bait and tackle from the specialist shop just behind the pussycat bar on the front at san antonio.
as there is no surface water on the island you won't find any freshwater fish!

catching those fish is a piece of piss. i bought a little 3 meter whip and a pole float ready made rig from that tackle shop, with what must have been a size 18-20 hook. the fish were queing up to be caught on a little piece of punched bread. it's good fun for a few hours.

have you been to ibiza before?
even if you havent its pretty easy to locate. its right by the west end, where all the cheap bars are, the shop is pretty much on the front, one road back, has all sorts of poles and rods outside.
i think i paid about 12 euros for the whip and rig, it was suprisingly cheap.
i fished the harbour from the jetty that runs along side it, at one of the quieter places. towards the egg round about ferrys run quite often.
all you need to do is get a cheap loaf and try throwing a few pieces in. then decide the best spot, a feeding frenzy is pretty much guarenteed.
