Fishing in Ibiza?

Not everyones cup of tea but I like to do a bit on holiday - off the beach, from the cliffs or out on a boat.
Any suggestions.

Fish from the rocks, nothing too heavy as they are mostly small fish, try to pick off some of the shell creatures (winkels we called them  ) from the rocks to use as bait. we caught a few from very close range, nothing major. But we was waiting one day by hotel Milord for the boat to leave to go to San An and the skipper was fishing off the little dock and was catching decent size fish (had a stripe around the tail section) with bread. he was knocking them out and taking them home by the looks of it.

Jump in the water with a good set of goggles and swim with them, lots of fun :D

there are boats here which do fishing trips - i think there's one from san an called barbados - and of course you can fish from the shore. as rex hunt once said 'structures' i always fish from a jetty as that's the type of structure fish - especially sargo (the ones with the spot on the tail) like to lurk. here's my tip - if there are comorants and eagrets in the area, go home and have a beer!

Yes, swimming with the fish is really great, you can also give them bread, they will not be afraid:

Yeah, me and my mates when we went last time, were looking to go on a trip where you ate the fish you caught, ... they cooked it on the boat for you like.

But couldnt find any places.

I've caught a few things, when I was younger I took a pole with me a couple of times even if just for half a day fishing. I didn't catch anything large but still had fun with the mini's:lol: an ibicencan friend was catching some pretty impressive fish..and taking them home too.

Also another friend of mine caught an octopus once (If I recall it was a mix of rod and net)
