First Visit to Ibiza

Picked up a cheap flight to Ibiza 23rd April. Staying for one week. Provisional hotel accommodation in San An Bay. Since finding this wonderful web site I have noted that most hotels do not open until the first week in May. While, for my sins or possibly my age, I am not interested in clubbing I would like to know if adequate restaurants/bars will be open or will I be staying in a ghost town. Given the aforementioned should I consider staying in another location on the island at this time of year.
Cheers - John

No Worries

I LIVE AND WORK IN SAN AN BAY,QUITE A FEW BARS AND RESTAURANTS ARE OPENING FOR EASTER.....THE PINK PANTHER WILL BE ROCKING EVERY NIGHT, AND RIGHT NEXT DOOR GREAT RESTAURANT CALLED CAN GRAU, TOP FOOD AND VERY CHEAP...SEE YOU THERE:lol: NICE COLD BEER WAITING ON THE BAR

You're not interested in clubbing and you like eating? Ibiza's perfect for you. san an bay is first and foremost a tourist area and will not be in full swing until may. you will however find a good few (good being the operative word) places which are open all year. they'll be good value and have spanish food.
san an itself - there are regualr buses round the bay - has a host of good bars and restaurants which are open all year and you'll find that the town's village atmosphere of winter still lingers at the end of april.
if you can hire a car, do so. the island is at its beautiful best at this time of the year, fresh green, full of flowers and with wonderful aromas of pine and herbs, the beaches are almost empty too. get out and about, see some villages, discover hidden coves - but don't go in the sea, it's too cold.
i'm sure you'll enjoy off season ibiza, i do!
