First time Ibiza San Antonio

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forum and to Ibiza as well, so got a few questions! :D

Me and my girlfriend have booked a weeks holiday at the start of June, staying in San Antonio bay. We're not massive clubbers, so were planning on doing 3 or 4 nights out of 7, and just getting around the island finding stuff to do the rest of the time.

I've read a little bit more about Ibiza, and San Antonio since booking...what's San An actually like?
I've heard some people say it's ok, and others saying pretty bad things, so wondered if I could get an honest opinion!

Also, what sort of places/things (clubs, bars and non-club activities) do people recommend going to/doing?
Is there any stuff we should avoid/be wary of?

And lastly, how busy is the Island in the first week of June?

Cheers!
Mark :)

hi mark, welcome to the forums! 8)

san an - like most tourist places i've seen anywhere in the world - has some absolutely stunning bits...and some pretty ugly pieces too. what i love san an for:

- the sunset strip. yes it is very commercial but it's still THE place to be when the sun goes down. of course there are other absolutely amazing places to see the sunset, but you can't go to ibiza for your first time without checking out the sunset strip. but generally, the western coast of the island is amazing in the evening hours, the light is just gorgeous.
- the beaches around san antonio. cala conta, cala bassa, cala gracio & gracioneta and cala salada. do them all, you won't be disappointed.
- there are some superb restaurants close to san antonio, so if you like fine dining, you'll love them.

it's still on the quiet side of things at the start of june, but it's a lovely time to visit ibiza. make sure you see a lot of the island!

Just won't spend all times in San an 8)
=>Playa den bossa (bora bora beach)
=>Dalt villa (a walk drink , along the harbor), ibz town harbor...

check the post of Johnny vodka where i've just gave some suggestions about San an plans ..
check the post "things to do in ibz" i've created where nobodody answer except Craig ...there are the adress of ibz Vets there...8)
for the clubs depends on your kind of music...space & Dc10 are the clubs to do at least & pick the right pârty cause iremember get bored at space many times

As far i am concerned ,won't miss Hed kandy opening on 1st june, supermartXé/Cristian Valera opening @ Privilege on 14th june , & la troya @ amnesia, circo locco @ dc 10...Pacha prices are insane & the line up does not attract me at all (Enjoy more the djs at pacha hotels)
Will do Cream opening just for curiosity cause not at all in Trance music...
Would like to Experience Ushuaia but did not find a dj (that play old school house for me) such i like there..

If you don't get a car, there are nice beaches around Sa an such as cala salada (i guess) ...

Hi :)

Sorry for the late response, I've been really busy with exams for the last few weeks and meant to come on sooner!
Thanks a lot for the advice given :) only 2 weeks to go now, can't wait!

All the best,
Mark

Hey mark!!! San an is really not as bad as some people make out. The west end is a bit horrible, but other than that I quite like it. As nostrum says you can't do your first Ibiza trip without drinks at sunset on the sunset strip!

What sort of things are you and your girlfriend planning on doing whilst in Ibiza? Have you got any club nights in mind? What sort of budget are you on?
