Dates you were there: July 21-July30

Where you stayed (resort/hotel): San Francisco Apts, San Antonio Centro

Club nights visited: Full on Ferry @ Eden -- Toolroom Knights @ Eden (x2) -- Carl Cox @ Space -- Ibiza Calling @ Space -- Cream @ Amnesia -- Pete Tong @ Ushuaia -- Viva Warriors @ Sankeys

Best night:Tough Call.... Ushuaia is an amazing venue. Carl Cox vs Marco Carola until 8am was incredible. The lighting @ Cream was epic.

Worst night: Wasn't very impressed with Full On Ferry but we got in for free.

Best bar: Didn't drink in many bars. Hit Bora Bora & Mambos each day and a few more drinks in room.

Best place to eat: I stuck to Subway with double meat. There is also an English Take-Away that does full spit roast chickens for 9euro.

Money spent: 1,400euros

Biggest regret: Not doing the Zoo Project & DC10

Going back?: Didn't want to leave! Was actually going to skip my flight and stay another week. 2weeks next summer!

Top tip: - Rent a bed @ Bora Bora for 10euros and bring your own drink for the day.
- Hit Cafe Mambo each night for the sunset and listen to some Djs.
- Try not go wandering by yourself at night around the Lucky Luckys. The women are even worse!
- Keep your ears open as reps will sometime drop prices and let you into clubs for free!
- Some reps will get you guestlist entry for free.

As the title suggests this was my first time in Ibiza! I tried to get my friends to go last year but it didn't work out. Fortunately, after this trip, I am sure I will have no problem getting them to go back!

I'll try my best to remember as much as I can and feel free to ask any Q's!

Sunday 21st July - A Taste of Ibiza!

So, after booking the trip all the way back in January, finishing up work on the friday, the day had finally come. I had have only 3 days off work this calendar year and working as much O/T as possible to be comfortable with money.

Myself and 3 other friends were heading away. Our flight time was at 3pm and we were to arrive at 7pm. Great times. My friend's cousin and his friends were also on the same flight both going and returning too. We left ~12pm for the airport and once checked in, headed straight for the airport bar for a few drinks to get the ball rolling!

Anyway, after a 2.5hr flight and a few more drinks we finally landed. Our bags came straight away and we were out the door! The queue for the taxi was fairly big and while I normally would not get an illegal taxi, it seemed worth the extra few quid between us.

We got to our destination in San Antonio and had to check in at the Florencio Hostal down the road from our apartments, the San Francisco Apts. It was literally right beside the Ibiza Rocks Hotel so it made it easy to find. We left our passports at reception and as our Apts had no pool, were told we could use theirs. We chucked our stuff into our room, which was actually very spacious, big balcony, well-air conditioned and clean for the money we paid, and then headed down stairs to get some food and more drinks! After that we headed down the shop to buy some more alcohol and went back to the room to shower, put on some music and carry on drinking!

I think it was somewhere between 1-2 when we left to head out. Because it was our first night we had planned on just hitting the West End and trying it out. We went down anyway, already fairly drunk after drinking all day, and started in a bar. After a round in there we continued down the strip looking for some Deep House clubs. One of the reps recommended V Club. We went in there for a drink, and while I liked the music, the place smelled so we left after 1. We then proceeded off to the bottom where a rep from Full On Ferry gave us bands and told us we could get in for free. I'm not a massive Ferry fan, I'm more into deep & defected, but we thought we'd check it out. Hey, it's free!

We got into Eden and it seemed a bit quiet. I was pretty drunk though and still went on to enjoy the show. To be honest he didn't do much for me but it was a decent first night. I only bought 1 drink, a JD & Coke, which came to 17euros! A good reason to hit the clubs later on when the better acts come on :) Can't remember much else from the night but I think we left before it finished and might have got another drink on the West End before heading back to our apartments. I can't remember returning anyway :)

You can probably tell by the image quality that the last 2 aren't mine :) That was pretty much only night I took pics. The rest I pretty much took videos. I'll try get some of them too.

Monday 22nd July - An Eventful Night

Woke up the next morning feeling a little bit rough but nothing too bad. Think it must have been around 2ish. After spending some time waking up, popping a berocca and chilling out, we went downstairs to get some food and head off. I fancied another drink, as it was the first time I've been away and could get Magners :)

I suggested we head PDB because the Party Calender, which I printed and brought (I'd recommend this), showed that Defected had a party on in the Tower. So I threw on a nice t-shirt and some shorts and we got a taxi to Ushuaia. Long story short, after getting to Ushuaia and asking for the Ushuaia Tower, we were directed to the hotel. When we got there, there did not appear to be any party and if there was, we didn't know how to get in.

Anyway, we thought f*ck it and we'll head down to Bora Bora. So we proceeded down the beach to Bora Bora which was an experience in itself. We got a few drinks and chilled listening to the music. 10euros for a pint of magners is quite steep though if you are a 22yr old student though :) After a few drinks, and several people offering us drugs (you can't walk more than a few feet outside or around Bora Bora without being offered drugs), some spanish dealer, who looked like a junkie misinterpreted me. I was telling her we would come back later, to which she returned with some Molly for me to try as a sample. I just licked some of it and then told her I wasn't interested, to which her friend was not pleased. We left soon after because they resided next to us and it was a bit awkward.

A taxi back to San An and I really wanted to go down to Mambo for the sunset. Can't remember the full details but we ended up missing it and got some food instead and a few drinks. I'm a little bit hazy on what went on next but finally we got ready and hit the strip again. Before heading out we had looked at the line-ups and were not crazy about Monday but we like Mark Knight and thought we would try get in for free again :) So anyway, we hit the strip again and my friend's brothers and sisters had told him about some drink called Weedkiller that you get in some bar called Ground Zero and it is meant to blow the head off you (We also found very similar drinks in Joe Spoons and in the Highlander called Venom). Made our way through the strip and and then headed for Mark Knight and not before long we were pulled by a rep. We had said about free entry but it didn't work. Instead, he said 3 of us pay 25euros and the 4th can get in for free, so it only worked out a little under 20euros.

By the time we had got in we were all fairly drunk and I was quite buzzing. Mark Knight came on just as we got in. Suddenly someone from my area comes up to me in there! Small world. But then, as the night went on and I was on the dance floor, my friend's cousin and his mates came up to me and then another group of people from my area. Seemed like half of my area was at Mark Knight! Enjoyed Mark Knight but as a whole Eden was quite quiet. Ended up leaving not with my mates but with others. Walked back up to the apartments myself, ringing my friends to no avail. 15 missed calls....

Anyway, as I walked towards Ibiza Rocks an english lad came running up towards me asking was I walking that way because a bunch of black women were trying to rob him. I walked with him to find 5 of them on each corner of the road. When we walked through, some more lads appeared from behind us and the women came towards us. Me, fairly drunk, started shouting at them to f*ck off and stay back. The english lad then picked up a bottle and threw it at them and shouted "England!". Bottles came back, to which I calmly turned around and said "I'm actually not from England". The lads all turned into their hotel and I was left by myself but there was no more trouble.

Tuesday 23rd July - Carl Cox vs Marco Carola

Next morning woke up fresh as a daisy! I say it was around 1-2ish. Although we wake around this time, it normally takes another hour or 2 for one of my friends to get ready :) Can't remember much from the morning. Think we got some breakfast and we headed off again down to Bora Bora. The previous day we had seen people with drink they had bought so when we got to PDB we went to to shops and got some drink, vodka & lemon was my choice of the day :)

Anyway, we headed down to the beach and thought, f*ck it, we'll just sit on some beds until someone comes over to us. Not long after, one of the beach workers came over and told us it was 10euros for a bed. We had drink and planned on spending most of the day there so it seemed worth it. We pretty much just chilled out on the beach for about 3-4 hours drinking, listening to music and watching all the great looking women ;)

Around 8pm we decided to head back to San An and grab something to eat, and I was still eager to hit Mambo for the sunset. We had agreed on Carl Cox for the night but the lads also like Together @ Amnesia line up and I was trying to explain that the pre party was on at Mambo after the sunset. Finally I talked them into it and we ended up getting the taxi straight to Mambo and topped up our drink in the shop. The sun was not long to set and the chilled house beats in the background set the mood perfectly.

Walking up the beach, saw a couple of lads that looked really familiar and asked us if we wanted pills. Said no anyway and kept on walking but I knew I knew him from somewhere. Not long after they came up and sat with us. After getting talking to them turns out he was a friend of a friend and all the lads lived pretty close to us. Chilled with them for a while as the sun slowly set. First time seeing it and it was something special. My phone is pretty crap so the pictures weren't coming out well but who cares. Soon enough the pre party began and I think it was Afrojack who came on the decks. I wanted to stay but my friends were getting hungry and we left, reluctantly.

After some food and a trip to the shop for another bottle of vodka we headed back to the apartment to shower, get ready and have a few more drinks. We had gotten bands earlier in the day for 15euro b4 12am, 25 b4 2am and 45 after 2am but our thought was, you'd save that extra 20euro on drinking for the 2 hours in apartment. The other nights we had gone by the reps deals but this time we thought we'd just get them off the rep that comes around to our apartment each night selling tickets. He was a pretty cool guy and was selling them at the same price as the website so it's not like we could have got a better deal for Coxy. We also then got 10 <3's for the night as we heard they were the best, and can now attest to that. I was the only one who had done jack n jills before but had since grown out of them and no longer dabble, but you're in Ibiza ;)

Around about 2 we headed outside and grabbed a taxi from Ibiza Rocks and set away for Space. I was quite excited as I was a bit disappointed with Eden as a venue the previous 2 nights and had heard so much about space. We arrived and got inside no problem. Never been there before I think we went to the terrace first were Bushwacka was playing. Not knowing the venue we actually thought this was the main room and stayed there for the best part of an hour. The place was really busy and there was a good atmosphere. Pretty much upon entry 2 of us popped a <3 each. Dancing away to the music, enjoying the scene, talking to some random spanish girls, and it started to come up on my friend. It was his first time. I thought, hey I'll give it another 15min and see. 15 minutes went by and nothing so I dropped another. Maybe a bit hasty. Not long after I got a rush. I was very light headed and short of breath. I walked back 10-15 paces and landed myself a stool. Sat there in convulsions for a bit before becoming extremely sweaty and taking deep breaths. I remember just wanting to lie on the ground in fresh air! After a couple of minutes though it passed and I returned to my friends on a nice buzz. One of them had gone off to look for me and when he got back he found the Discoteca where Marco Carola was on so we followed him there.

2 of us on <3s and enjoying ourselves a 3rd friend asked me for 1, so I obliged. I can't remember but he ended up getting sick into a glass. He was then hugging people haha I was just by the dancefloor enjoying the tunes and got talking to some guy from England. There seemed to be a rather big Spanish crowd there so I was glad to speak to someone from Britain. The show really kicked off though when Carl Cox came on. The lighting, Name flashing, face flashing, and then drops a beat and the place erupts. Brilliant. Not long after the famous Carl Cox robot gets lowered down from the ceiling, fireworks coming out from it's back and then walks around shooting lasers! Coxy certainly knows how to put on a show. After Coxy going at it for 2 hours, from 6-8am Carl Cox went B2B with Marco Carola. That was pretty cool. Somewhere along the way I dropped a 3rd. As 8am approached, I had comedown and bought myself a JD & coke. 2 of my friends had left bout 6ish already. After I finished my JD the 2 of us and the english guy we met all decided to leave just before the end. Easier to get a taxi.

We got back to San An but had just asked to be dropped in San An anywhere. Mistake. I think we walked around for about 30 minutes, stopping in a shop on the way to buy a can of Magners. Think it was 9:30 when we got back. I just put in my iPod and went to bed listening to some Deep House :)

Wednesday 24th July - Hell Yeah

Woke up after only 2-3hours sleep. My friend who went home early had set his alarm for 11:30 so he could get up and sunbathe but slept through it and it woke me. I lay in bed for approximately another 30min before getting up. Got up, feeling fresh, popped a berocca and a protein shake, had a shower and I sat out on the balcony for a while chilling while everyone else lay in bed. Finally people start to arise and get ready. My friend headed down to the pool down the road, which was always packed, you would be lucky to get a sun bed, and me and my other friend got ready while the last stayed in bed.

We planned on going back down to Bora Bora but the lazy sh*t wasn't up for it and the other was staying by the pool.... So the 2 of us got a taxi down by ourselves, got some vodka and onto the beach we went :) Must of been between 3-4 when we got there. The beach was fairly busy too and there were not many beds left but we got some decent ones close enough to the music. I forgot to mention, the previous day while at Bora Bora a rep was trying to sell us tickets for Carl Cox but failed. Instead though he persuaded us to buy guestlist entry into Ibiza Calling @ Space for 30euros each. We had each paid a deposit of 10euros the day before and were to meet him there to pay the remainder. Just as we sat down on the beds he walked by, what are the odds! I shouted him over and we finished up.

Quite a chilled day down at Bora Bora. Some very good looking females about :) There was a party on at the bar, girls doing booty shake offs, cameras were filming, etc. Also, the Pacha girls were doing the rounds and putting on a show going along the beach. You can't help but sit back with a beverage and think, this is what paradise is :) Sun beaming down, good music pumping, great looking women, few drinks, and chill.

After a couple of hours there we thought we'd grab a taxi and try make it back for the sunset. Unfortunately by the time we got back, we were pushing it on time and decided to go and get some food instead. We got dropped off at the waterfront so we could walk a bit and I just grabbed a Subway. We got back to the apartment and the other 2 were waiting. The 3 of them went to get something to eat and I just started showering, shaving, etc.

When the lads finally came back up we whacked on some tunes and got back to drinking :) We had to be at Space before 2am for the guestlist apparently so we left the apartment around 1:15am to hit the strip for 1/2 drinks. I thought we were pushing it on time some I literally downed a pint of that weedkiller in one.

By the time we got the taxi to space it was just around 2ish. We got in no problem (having to show I.D for guestlist) and I got myself a JD & Coke. We went into the Terrace and we caught the last 45mins of Funkagenda :) Threw back a <3 and carried on drinking. Only 2 of us on them this night. This time I just left it for a good while and let it come up slowly and just topped up with one later on. I was on a more mellow buzz but still buzzing. Was talking to 2 girls from Kent most of the night who had a flight at like 7am that morning. Nice girls and a good way to end the holiday :) Fedde Le Grand came on then ~2.45am and had the Terrace buzzing. Played some pretty good stuff. In all honesty I probably would have rathered go to DC10 for Jamie Jones but majority rules. I was however impressed with Kurd Maverick later on. His mixes were pretty spot on and he rocked it. Just a shame the place had started emptying out by the time he came on. Too many people not able to handle a session :)

Anyway, my friend really wanted him to play "Hell Yeah", so just as he was about to drop a beat, and the place went quiet, all you could hear quite distinctly was my friend shouting "Helllll Yeaaah!". Everyone heard it but he still didn't play it. We stayed until he finished up and then just got a taxi back to the apartment. Stayed up for a bit and had a drink before retiring to bed.

Thursday 25th July - Epic Sunset

The usual daily wake up routine, around about the usual time. Get up, freshen up, pop a berocca and slam down a protein shake :) By the time everyone was ready it must have between 3-4. Some of the lads weren't feeling the best so we said we'd give Bora Bora a miss and check out if there were any beaches close by to relax in the sun, as the pool was too busy for all of us to chill. We walked down in the direction of the Sunset Strip and I bought a beach towel and a pair of sunglasses :)

Before we got near a beach we noticed like some wooden decks near some water activities which some people seemed to be laying on so we thought f*ck it, we'll flake here in the sun. 2 of us got down there and the other 2 went back to the room. We just chilled in the sun and got chatting to some girls who were going to see Richie Hawtin. Apparently he was having a free party at San An beach? After about an hour or so the 2 lads came back to us. It was probably about 5ish and we decided to go for a walk.

Walked down along the sunset strip, down by mambo and I fancied a drink. We saw some small, open bar that advertised beer for 1euro so we thought we'd stop in there. Sat there and had a few bottles of magners and a tuna sambo :) Soon after we headed back up towards the apartment I think.

I was determined to get the lads down to Mambo again for the sunset. We must of only been in the apartment an hour, and we headed down early enough for the sunset, stopping in the shop to buy some drink on the way. The sky was clear this night. The music in the background was so laid back and chilled. I remember this version of "Get Lucky", which for the life of me have not been able to find, being played as the rocks started to fill and the sun got lower. Probably one of my favourite things about Ibiza :) Everyone was kicking back, having a few drinks, waiting for the sunset, all on the same page. The DJ puts on the final song for the sunset, the scene is set, half the sun still above water, the parachute in the sky, the boat sailing through the half sun, until it finally sets. The whole strip stands to applaud and whistle and cheer. Magical moment.

Soon after, I think it was the Pacha pre party which began. I can't remember who was playing that night. We stayed for a bit to finish our drinks before heading back to the apartment where 1 of the lads had stayed in.

We got back and decided to go downstairs for something to eat. I think we had gotten our tickets for Cream @ Amnesia the day before off the rep. Anyway, at dinner I suggested we get a bottle of red wine, because wine gets you drunk fairly well.

Having eaten, we went back up to the room to start showering, getting ready, et al. Must of been 11-12ish. I'm not too sure. Had also decided to stick to the drink that night to give my lips/jaw a rest ;) By the time we finally left, after waiting on 1 of the lads for easily an hour, it was about 2am. The taxi rank was quite full and there were illegal taxi men poaching. One was saying 40euro, to which I said we'd take one for 20 and we finally met half way. Closing on 2:30am will finally arrived. The driver was actually pretty cool, think he was serbian. About to leave he said he had some <3s to which I was seriously considering as I sat in the back of the car. The moment passed and we just paid and got out.

We had been told that our tickets were Q jump tickets but when we got there, it was not the case. I think it may just be down to the fact it was so busy. The Q was quite big and I think it was already filled inside. Suddenly there was a rush and the Q dispersed inside into the terrace. I felt almost sober by now and was kicking myself for not taking the man up on his offer of <3s. As we got in, we entered right beside the DJ booth where Burns was playing. 2 of us decided try head up to the bar to get some more alcohol in. The place was so rammed it was hard to move. The heat was unbearable. By the time we got to the bar, I had changed my mind and set out to buy 2 bottles of water. The wait at the bar was even long. Finally when the 2 of us got our water, we were right beside the dance floor so just strolled on. After a couple of mins I got a text to say the other 2 had left because it was too busy.

Not long in, and then Burns went off and Calvin Harris came on. Now, I'm not a big Calvin Harris fan, and the line up in general for Cream doesn't excite me, but I have to say he had the Terrace rocking. He didn't play so many of his commercial hits. I was actually impressed with Cream. The lighting was pretty amazing, the sea of people having a good time, everyone just "on it". Actually quite enjoyed Calvin Harris and was looking forward to Hardwell coming on, as I had seen him before and enjoyed it. To my disappoint though he never came on. Don't know why but Fedde Le Grand came on after Calvin Harris, and I had only seen him the night before. One thing though which I remember, everyone parting as a guy in a wheelchair descended upon the dance floor. Also, the people on the VIP balcony were definitely throwing drink at us! I remember tasting bulmers lol

Around about 5:30 the 2 of us decided to leave. With the lighting and dancing all night we left almost stumbling. We thought we'd get out before closing to beat the rush, and we had already seen Fedde anyway. There was still quite a Q outside but we waited no more than 5mins and hopped in a taxi with 2 brummy lads back to San An.

We got dropped off at the Egg and were unsure whether the lads were back at the apartment or out on the West End. It was coming on 6 anyway and thought everywhere shutting up soon and we just head back. The lads were still out but came in only about 5mins behind us. They were in Play2 the night and then hit a strip club. Couldn't get 1 to shut up and I left to go to bed and let him torment the others. A good night in Cream though!

Friday 26th July - Ushuaia Experience

A bit tougher getting up today. I find myself waking and falling back to sleep an awful lot and struggling to peel myself out of bed before 2pm. I finally managed anyway, and again with the morning ritual. The night before we had bought tickets for Le Grand Bazar @ Ushuaia. Calvin Harris was playing again......but I like Pete Tong and with ANTZ on Saturday, Avicii Sunday & Guetta Monday, it seemed like our best bet to get in an event @ Ushuaia, which several people I had spoken to said was their best day/night!

Anyway, I'll cut to the chase. We got a taxi down to Bora Bora ~4:30pm. We walked around for a bit unsure whether to chill in a bar where we could get reasonable price cool refreshments or just buy some drink and sit outside Jet. After much deliberation wee decided on drink + Jet :) 2L of 11% Sangria ;) Chose a drink that would still go down easy even if it gets warm. Plus, after 2L I was fairly merry! Chilling outside Jet was fairly cool for a change. I really liked the music they were playing and there seemed to be a party going on. Got talking to a Belgian Rep who was selling Boat Party tickets for a while. She was fairly cool, and I even shared some of my sangria, because I'm such a gent :)

I think it was about 7ish when we decided to start walking down towards Ushuaia and I decided I wanted to experience Ushuaia with Jack n Jills so I rang the person I normally get them off. He was up in San An and said to try down here with some English reps. Couldn't source any <3s. As I walked by a bar a group of 6-8 girls waved me in to them so I obliged and sat with them finishing off my sangria. The bar didn't mind because I got talking to 2 of the reps and agreed to buy 5 Aladdins. The girls were going to Ushuaia too, but for some reason 2 of my friends didn't come sit with us and walked on and just waited. Ended up having to leave them to meet up with my friends.

We got into Ushuaia and I was quite excited for the event. I pretty much dropped one straight away. Got talking to some girls from Manchester, can't remember how, but my Mum is from there and they lived close by. They were surprised how bronze I was for an Irishman but I've English roots too :) Can't remember who was on before Pete Tong but I was more so waiting for Tong. Went up to the bar and got a drink. When I came back my friend pointed out some guy who looked an awful lot like someone I know from home, and in Cream the previous night I had seen someone looking like the same person. So I approached him and asked if he was at Cream but to no avail. 3 people looking the same, what are the odds? I got talking to him and 1 of his friends anyway and it turns out they were over for a stags. I think by this stage I had dropped a 2nd. The buzz was fairly light compared to <3s. Was not too impressed.

In fact, I can't actually remember much from Ushuaia. Ended up dropping 4 because they were crap and much of the night is a blur until the end. Shame. I have tons of videos on my phone though. I got talking to another group of people too and the rest is a mystery until we were leaving. One of my friends left early to go to the shop before the rush. Upon leaving there was loads of reps for Sankeys and some for Booom. I know we got free bands for entry into Booom & into JAG but my friend was hungry so we got a taxi back to the apartment. Think a few went down for food but I put on some MJC and I was coming down. After 4, already, dirt.... Ended up starting on the vodka, having a shower, and getting ready.

I don't know why we didn't end up going to Sankeys or Booom, but we decided on just hitting the West End for the rest of the night. Looking back, if I was in a better state of mind I would have pushed one of those. By the time we hit the Strip I was down and the rep called us as he was having a few drinks himself. Got talking to him as he is a big fan of Ushuaia himself. We went on our way then and into the first bar. I somehow for 8euro got 4 vodka & 7up, 2 sex on the beach cocktails and 2 shots of sambuka. I must have knocked it all back within about 5-10mins trying to get drunk and get back on a buzz. It worked :) Next bar we hit I think was Ground Zero for some of that weedkiller. Couple of those down the hatch. Then onto the Highlander. Don't think I got a drink in there. I was kind of happy with what I had for the time being and dancing away. After there I think we finally hit Play2. Some good music, topped up a drink, and stayed there until about 6am.

All in all, a very good day. Would definitely recommend Ushuaia but not Aladdins :)

Saturday 27th July - The Proposal

I think today would have been the first day that I really struggled getting up in the morning. I kept waking during my sleep and then going back, and so forth. It was probably 3-4pm by the time I dragged myself out of bed. I don't know if it was the drink or the Aladdins but I didn't feel as chirpy as other mornings. I think the previous night must have hit everyone because the others showed no sign of getting up. Finally one of them got up and I thought getting some food in my stomach would sort me out.

So off to Subway we went. Got a nice footlong with extra chicken and sat outside in the sun. A few lads who we knew were going subway too so we sat and chilled with them. Have to say, the food sorted me right out. It was Saturday and everywhere was doing the body painting and everyone seemed to be heading the Zoo Project, something that I had wanted to do. We headed back towards the apartment, he went down to the pool and I went back to try get the other 2 to go to Zoo. No luck. The 2 of them sat inside with the curtains drawn watching tele, Top Gun to be precise. How exciting. You're in Ibiza and you sit in watching Top Gun.

I was pretty bored so I had a shave and left myself a goatee. With it being Saturday also, I had been talking to some reps the previous day from both Sankeys & Booom about getting free into either Carnival Cities or Defected. These are two events that stood out for me as I really like the line ups for Carnival Cities and Miguel Cambell was headlining and I also love the Defected label. Didn't get to go down to them either......

I went down to the shop and bought myself some cans. I had one before we set off for Mambo for the sunset. This was the first time they left the apartment all day. Anyway, off to Mambo we went. It was kind of cloudy so it wasn't the best sunset although we had gotten a spot on the bench. And even though it was cloudy and you didn't actually see the sun set, it was kind of cool the way it set into the clouds. There was however a big cheer and clap, not for the sunset though. I'm raging I didn't get a video but right in front of us on the rocks, a man proposed to his girlfriend at the sunset, and she said yes! I thought that was a pretty cool thing to witness! We stayed at Mambo for a good while. I think Martin Solveig might have been playing and they started a fire show right in front of us. Finished our drinks and off we went to get food.

Because the lads were falling off the pace we decided on hitting the West End for the night. After getting ready we were set to leave and once again we were waiting on that 1 friend. With the alcohol and it happening every night I began to rage. I walked off down towards the strip and I had to stop just before the strip to take some deep breaths and calm down. Every night.... I had enough. We started off in the same bar we always seemed to start in. Cocktails, vodkas, jagers, sambuka, jelly shots, skittle bombs and some laughing gas. Good way to get it going. We ended up going on a bit of a crawl and ended up in Plastik for the Hed Kandi pre-party. It started to empty after a while so we went back up towards the strip. I really can't remember which bars we went in. Nothing that was memorable anyway.

All in all from my point of view, it was a pretty uneventful day with only the proposal leaving an impression. Would have liked to have down Zoo/Sankeys/Booom personally.

Sunday 28th July

Again getting out of bed is proving to be a struggle! I wake early but just can't seem to get up. Finally though I manage. I remember this day I wasn't feeling the best. Think it was all the cheap drink on the strip that done it ;) Can't really remember what I done during the day. Don't think I got up until about 4ish. Anyway, feeling rough I may have went down to the pool to chill out while the others were in the apartment. Lay there trying to soak up some sun while I still had the chance.

I returned to the apartment and got showered and freshened up. Think I flaked out on the balcony then. One of the lads was really badly hungover lol and another wasn't the best either. We decided to head off and go get some food and then eventually make our way down to Mambos. As soon as I got out and walking down to get food I started feeling much better. Fresh air and some food and I was feeling tops again :) Time to get back on it!

Into the shop & I opted for some Kopperberg for a change. As we walked by the reps were asking were we off to and trying to get us in for drinks but as soon as I said we were off to Mambos for the sunset they wished us the best and told us to enjoy it, which I thought was quite nice actually. Nice clear sky today. We were stuck on the rocks, and on some sh!tty rock because my friends wouldn't sit next to what looked like a family (no mother, father & sons) and wouldn't sit near the benches because the baldy fella was going around. We sat there and drank our drink as the sun went down. Then Solomun came on :) I'm a fan of Solomun. Really love his music and his style. Quite enjoyed sitting there listening to him for the night. While we were sitting there a rep from Tooroom Knights came over to us. He said if we wrote our names and emails on his list we would get guestlist entry into see MK & Mark Knight on Monday. I'll take that. Not only do I like Mark Knight but I think MK is wicked too.

We headed back for the apartment I'd say about 10:30-11pm. Stopped in the car park to take a p!ss. I think the lads got food but I went down to the shop and treated myself to a bottle of JD :) Back up to the apartment and I began getting ready while they ate. On with the music, pour some drinks and the lads come back. We ended up getting tickets for Viva Warriors @ Sankeys as I wanted to go to Sankeys before leaving, even though it may not have been a night I would have initially picked to go.

After finally everyone being ready we set off for Sankeys. We had tried to get some <3s off our guy but he came back and said there was none left but we should get some down there quite easy. Upon walking into Sankeys it was already pretty busy. It was going to be the BBC1 Radio 1 Essential Mix. Darius Syrossian was on when we first got in and I was enjoying it. Looking around everyone there seemed to be out of it and I was wanting someone to approach me for Jack n Jills but to no avail. It was very sweaty in there. I had been under the impression that drinks were cheaper in Sankeys but I got 2 JD & Coke and it came to 32euros, 16 each. I even tried asking for just 1 coke but he said it was the same price. I pretty much downed them 2 straight away, trying to get more drunk. If I wasn't going to be on <3s I might aswell try get f*cked. 2 more JDs & then Steve Lawler came on. We stayed in the Basement for a little bit longer before moving upstairs. It was less crowded and less sweaty up there but I wasn't enjoying the music and was disappointed nobody was offering anything. I even walked into the toilets twice, took a p!ss but wasn't in too much need, and still nothing. I was getting a bit bored up there so I finally got them to go back downstairs. I preferred Steve Lawler to upstairs but his set was a bit techy for me but I was still having a good time. Wasn't going to spend another bomb on alcohol so I just got a water and off dancing. My friend had left to get some air so we said we'd wait for him so we stayed in the same spot. About 5:30am some guy finally came up asking if wanted Jack n Jills but it was 5:30 and it was too late for me.

After waiting about 30mins we decided to just walk out, not knowing where he had gone. When we got outside he was standing waiting. He couldn't get back in once left. Also, there was a group of Lucky Luckys standing on a corner which he said he thought were trying to rob him, so we hopped in a taxi back to San An. We decided to go grab some food when we got back so we popped into an English take away to get some chicken craps. I was waiting for mine when a Scottish lad from Glasgow came in. He was f*cked to say the least and I could barely understand a word he was saying. I was talking to him for a bit, trying to anyway but I was fairly sober by now and just wanted my wrap and chips. Finally got them and got to say farewell. God help them trying to take his order.

Walking back to the apartment there were 2 English lads and one was complaining about being hungry while the other was saying he had 50euros worth of good in the bag. I didn't want my chips so I offered him mine, which he was more than happy to take.

I enjoyed Solomun at Mambos but wished would have got to experience Sankeys on another night or at least a bit more buzzed. Music wasn't exactly to my taste on the night.
