First Ibiza Trip

I'm coming to Ibiza with my girlfriend from Canada between August 28 and September 8, not sure exactly on the day but I'll be there for 4 or 5 days.

Never been to Ibiza and don't know anybody who has so thought I'd ask here for some advice.

Where to stay? Since I'm already coming from Canada and will spend a bit of cash to get there, want to spend as little as possible. We're thinking of hostels or hotels, doesn't really matter as long as it's clean and safe. Too bad you can't stay on the beach, hehe. Which town to stay in? So far I'm thinking of Ibiza. What are the clubs to go to, and what are the places to visit?

I would really appreciate and other information you might have. I want this trip to be great, worthwhile and something that I will remember for a long time. Also I want an experience so I come back!!! Well, give me everything you got.

Please help an Ibiza virgin, I need to have my cherry popped, hehe... Thanks!
 
if paul van dyk is on at that time go and see him at cream. a night not to be missed. visit es vedra mystical place, bora bora beach. theres loads to do probably better getting a reply from one of the locals. i go mostly for the clubs.
 
Damn! I just checked the Party Calendar and he's there on the 24th of August and 7th of September... Not sure if we'll still be there...

Anyone else have any advice for an Ibiza virgin?
 
I'm there the smae dates as you, from August 28 - sept 7th.
We may like completely different things.. This will only be my third trip to the island (so I'm no expert)but hopefully not my last,

Tuesday, 29th, Carl cox
Wed, Meganite
Thurs. Pacha
Fri La comunidad or pacha
Sat. am Matinee
Sun We love ( danny tenaglia!!! :) :))
Monday DC10 and cocoon in the evening
Tues carl cox
Wed, maybe meganite or rest before I fly home the next day.

Is there only two of you?
A good cheap place to stay would be the Bon Sol apartments in PDB, on this site, the Bon sol 2. These are probably the cheapest apartments you are going to get in playa d'en bossa.
I highly recommend you stay in this area, as ibiza town is near by, as is bora bora and space.

What kind of music do you like? that all depends too.

Personally I wouldn't go to cream, it just is not my kind of music... you may love it..

don't miss space on sundays though, its great.

Do your research about what you want and what dj you want to go see.

I too make the trek from Canada every year and its well worth it... I love it! :)

Yes we're leaving from Edmonton. We have found a return flight to Amsterdam for $590! Steal of a deal. Then we'll find a flight to Ibiza from there....

My question to you is what is the best town to stay in? Are all the beaches private or do they belong to the resorts and you can't go on the beach if you don't stay there? What are the beaches to go to? I hear more and more about people getting robbed, are there any safety boxes or anything where you could put some gear in? We're travelling across europe and need a laptop and have an SLR camera with us...
 
check www.expedia.co.uk for some cheap hotels. The cheapest I've found are Playa Sol Apartments in Figuretas. Nice area and decent apartments.

My recommendations are:

We Love @ Space on Sundays
DC10 on Mondays
Carl Cox @ Space on Tuesdays
Meganite @ Priviledge on Wednesdays
Deep Dish @ Pacha on Thursdays
Matinee on Saturdays
 
hee hee becki, thats the exact clubbing recommendation i would given... except of course id add on Cocoon after DC10 on monday evening

because you are coming from Edmonton, i wouldn't receommend going to places like Cream, judgement sundays or eden... not that edmonton is really like this.... but as you are traveling all that way, you want the opposite of edmonton as possible!

but then again, you could go to the above places and have the time of your life!

I'd say the club nights you go to depend 100% on your taste in music...

This year you'll have the choice of trance / electro house / soulful house / 'funky' house / minimal house etc...

If you say what music you like, people here will point you in the right direction :)

I'd stay in Playa'den bossa, walking distance to space, bora bora, short drive to DC10, salinas, ibiza town, this is my personal preference (but do it!..ha ha :lol:). some people will disagree with me but IMO and from what i've seen San Antonio is much younger, less 'European'.. that sounds snobby i know..:cry:, but i'd always say in PDB.. you may think differently

3. What are the best beaches to go to?

there are tons of beaches to go to... many of them, MOST of them are on this website... under beaches. for this reason i strongly suggest you hire a car.. through sites like hispacar.com...i'm looking at 235 euro for 10 days (for a wee one!)

Depends what you want on a beach, quiet? small? if you look on the beaches site of this website, they give a brief description of many beaches

many hotels have safety deposit boxes
 
For trance, go to Cream and Judgement Sundays.

For house, go to Defected on Tuesdays and Subliminal on Wednesdays.

No matter what, go to Bora Bora.

Hey, totally somehow missed this post. I'm thinking of getting there on the 28th as well. Have Sept 28th to Oct 3rd booked off from work. How are you flying there and how much did it cost you? My deal to fly to Amsterdam fell through and now I'm looking for something else.

We'd be staying in Ibiza for 4 maybe 5 nights, as we're hitting Paris afterwards, and then off to Poland after a week or so...
 
I'm leaving Edmonton evening of the 24th, so I arrive in London on the 25th in the afternoon. I have some family there I will stay with and some friends to meet up with over the weekend... Then in Monday I'll take that easyjet flight to Ibiza and stay there until the 7th.

My flight was part airmiles ... but I think flights return with Air Canada are about $1200 right now. (from Edmonton) If you leave from Calgary, you can go on a charter flight which is about $1000. I haven't looked into flying into different parts of Europe, but maybe you will find something better,

I'm heading to Paris afterwards as well!! got a friend there I'm going to stay with.

Can you spend more than 4 or 5 nights in Ibiza, say a week, ... first time I went I was ther for a week and everything was crammed in, last time I was there for 10 days, and will do the same this year.

If you fly to London, and get an easyjet flight to Ibiza in the afternoon( they are now 35.99) maybe I'll see you on the flight! :)
