Finding it impossible to find a decent priced single room for 5 nights in PDB!!!

Hi guys,

Firstly, great forum. I've been browsing recently and have found some great information. 8)

A few mates are going out to PDB half way through August. They've booked well in advance as you do.

My proposed holiday to Kavos fell through due to a mate not being able to get time off work. I'm desperate for a short break so decided to tag along to Ibiza and meet up with them.

Maybe I'm being naive but I thought it wouldn't be an issue finding a single room which isn't horrendously overpriced. The problem I'm finding is all the hotel rooms are geared up for a minimum of 2 people so when searching for availability they are trying to charge me the same price that two people would pay.

I can understand why they do it as they will be losing out by selling a double room to a single person.

I've found a couple of hotels including one in Ibiza town on the spotlight hotel search but it's still not very cheap considering the hotel price excluding flights for 5 nights in Ibiza town is the same price as a whole package holiday inc flights for 7 nights in San Antonio!

So I was wondering if any of you guys could recommend anywhere that doesn't cost an arm and leg for a single room or any room for that matter for one person to stay in. It doesn't have to be anything special as long as I can put my head down at night.

Or alternatively how much hassle would it be to book the 7 nights in San An and commute over every day via bus as I've read on here taxis are horrendously expensive from San An to PDB especially on my tod. I've read something about a bus. Is it 24 hours? Personally the idea of having to bus to and forth from San An and PDB doesn't sound much of a holiday to me but if it means saving nearly £200 and getting two extra nights it may be well worth it?!

I've not been to Ibiza since 2003 and then I stayed in San Antonio Bay so I'm out the loop in terms of prices etc

I'd appreciate any advice from the Ibizaites ;)

what dates you looking at.waste of time getting a bus.you need to be in pdb.i know its silly but they charge extra even though there is one bed in a room.

Check in : I'm flexible, it doesn't have to be 5 nights, any day from 16/17/18th Aug and check out on 22nd Aug.

I've got too agree, having to use the bus every day doesn't sound like fun to me, especially after a heavy night out.

Purchase a Lilo and sleep in your mates room.
I've heard the hotels are pretty strict when it comes to extra guests! It would also mean having to smuggle my suitcase past reception without checking in. :)

and what sort of budget are you aiming towards?
Budget wise £400-£500 (hotel + flights). I don't really want to go over that but could prob stretch another £50 at the max as it'll start eating into my spendo. Am I under budgeting completely? I know with 2+ persons that would be more than enough for a semi decent hotel and flights.

I'm also not fussed about having a pool as I'm a beach man. 8)

Cheers guys

Just wait at a random bar while your mates check in then go up half n hour later. We had 30 of us at the Jet Apartments this year. Our room had 1 extra in, a couple of other rooms had 2 extras on the floor.

Haha I don't doubt it could work but it would be a lot of unnecessary hassle. They're on a different flight for a start so we get in at different times.

I've found a few deals now so it's all good.

I see when I get back our next game is at St Mary's. I look forward to seeing Nugent bagging a hat trick.

I have a friend who is in the same situation, what are the deals you found?

The only deals I found were on travel republic but you were still looking at £350 for 4 nights (just the hotel)!!! That doesn't represent good value for money with me as with flights etc it will total around the £500 mark just for 4 nights!!

I've given up now. I'd love to go out but not at those prices considering I can book seven nights for the same week for £320 including hotel and flights in San Antonio.

In future I'll make sure I book in advance/organise the holiday a lot earlier.

I did a week last year in PDB for about £300 +flights which compared to what prices are like this year was an absolute bargain8)

I stayed in the club don toni last year, half board this year its full board and the price has doubled8O

So I'm staying in San An this year on my short stay and the accommodation is costing me £100 for 4 nights, its only a bed I need so aint to fussed what its like:roll:

Yeah you can pick up some cracking deals in San An but as all my mates are in PDB I don't want to spend half my hols catching buses.

Looks like prices from UK are much higher then from germany...
We are doing 1 week PDB end of september for 350 Eur including the flight.

Don Toni would have been 530 Eur. Stayed there for the last 3 times, but duo to USA trip earlier this year our budget is tight.
