stopped staring at my technics like its gonna chop my hand off and did some mixing on vinyl last night...

still a bit clumsy here n there, but am very suprised how easier it is to slow/speed up than the cd decks ive got...

:D

i'm having mucho difficulties with decks. CD-players are soooooooooooooo easy. But probably because i have them longer ... need to work on those deck-skills :-)

I know some will disagree with this but depending on how good your slipmats are it can sometimes be difficult to cue a track back (spinning it back and holding it) without slowing the turntable itself.

A friend of mine gave me a tip which is to take one of the crispy 'inners' from a 12" sleeve (not the paper ones - the ones that look like tracing paper) and cut it to a 12" circle.

Pop a hole in the middle and place this under your slipmat - directly on the deckplate and replace the slipmat on top. Static will make it hug the deckplate but it will make it much easier to whip the vinyl forwards and backwards without disturbing the speed of the deckplate.
