AFTER I booked to stay in Figueretas in July I had a few comments about it being loaded with gay guys misbehaving left right and centre. I need to put the record straight (chortle) for anyone looking to stay in the Ibiza town area who may have been told similar rubbish.
Yes there are some gay guys (one assumes from appearances) about but I can say I hardly noticed them, yes there were a few who gave me a funny look or two but I expect alot of people do anyway (self deprecating as usual) I saw more suspect candidates in Playa DenBossa, and frankly who cares anyway. Lets face it Ibiza is about options and I can't think of anything (within reason) that is not available, which is why its such a good place for a well deserved holiday.
If you are insecure about such things its probably best that you work it out before you go, or maybe try Florida.
Be notified it is NOT a "gay" resort area; there are loads of families and holday makers of all sorts. So, forget the crass journalistic generalisations you see on web sites back at home and stay where you think you will like.
I recommend Mar y Playa Appartments 100% for anyone. Its excellent, clean, well equipped and easy to get anywhere from there and I didnt feel the need to wince at the curtains even once.
If you are gay though, its probably a better area for you than San Antonio I would imagine but I don't think there are any strict rules. I think some hotels are more favoured but who's to know, experts please advise
