Ferry from Barcelona

Hey, i'm just wondering if any of you guys have taken the ferry from Barcelona to Ibiza, it looks like thats what ill be doing, and i saw schedules on the website but i dont recall seeing prices. Is it really worth spending 9 hours on the boat to save like 10-15 Euros instead of taking a 45 minute flight?

If you book in advance your fly tickets you can find good deals and the journy by plane is only 20 minutes.

I'm flying direct from Barcelona (post Sonar) and paying about 50 euros each way.

I don't think the ferry is any cheaper than this and it's a heck of a lot quicker.

i'm not so sure about this quicker business. the 4 hour super fast ferry takes you from city centre to city centre. thus you save on taxis. you arrive 30 minutes before departure and get straight on board, when you arrive you have your luggage with you and get straight off.
having just spent over 1 hour waiting for my parents' luggage to arrive on the carousel at ibiza and with a check in time of an hour before departure i would say the time difference is hardly worth mentioning.
i paid 83 euros return when i went to barcelona in march on the ferry

Thanks

Thanks very much Stephen, great to hear from you on the subject. It looks like i'll be taking a plane, just because from the mock bookings i've done the days make it cheaper to fly. Its gonna be 60E + taxes so i think it works out to about 74 or so to fly and about 90 to ferry. Thanks for the clarification though.

I'm a ferry fan too. It takes a relatively long time, esp. if you go via Mallorca, but it's a nice way to ease yourself into Ibiza.

And if one is a bit frazzled after one's stay it's a nice way to ease out too.

Stephen,
Transmediterranea fast ferry high season is around 125€ so probably it's not that worth :!:
