ferries to Formentera....

hi, i'm gonna be in Ibiza in a months time and may want to take the ferry over to Formentera for the day... according to the section on this site it takes about 25mins to get there but does anyone know if they still run every 30 mins at this time of year?

also, how much is it and could i take a bike on board?

is there a timetable somewhere online so i know when the last one back to Ibiza is?

though for some reason they aren't showing availability in february - maybe a glitch - keep checking.
 
The usual ferries from Ibiza port must be running regulary, as it's a service for the locals! Just turn up at the Ibiza docks and there should be the usual choice.
The office at the docks/port will have the info about last ferry back etc.
 
Stephen- do medpitiusa operate through the winter months? I think its a limited timetable?
ric-may be worth checking their site too as you can get discounts (cut out tokens in the Pacha magazine attached to their adverts)

although i can't find anywhere about whether a bike can be brought on board... :(

every time we have taken the ferry from the terminal over to formentera (medpitiusa and balearia) the deck area around the top of the walkway is full of bikes/cases/cattle/stuff... well perhaps not the cattle

there's a box to choose which vehicle you are taking with you on the booking form. bikes are on it

As I am such a lovely bloke I sent them an email and asked for you
The reply from medpitiusa was as follows (cut and pasted straight from his email)...


"Yes you can take bicicyles on our boats but you have to pay about 5 € each way, that you pay directly to the crew. When are you planing to come to Formentera, and for how long, is it you first visit ? If you need any more information about the boats or Formentera please let us now and we will happily reply. You will find a photo of one of our beaches that is ideal for using your towel clips."

Think that clears it up!
