when you download online mixes etc do you have to save them as a particular format to then subsequently play in your ipod....

sorry for the dumb quesiton - only just bought an ipod recently. Set mine to play AAC format i think but does it matter what you import? i notice this mix is MP3 for example. Am i right in thinking that AAC is actually the same as MP4?
cheers.
mike.

If memory serves, MP3 stands for "Mpeg-1, Layer 3". Your iPod should be able to play any MP3 file no problem, even if you've set your iTunes to import new music as AAC.

I was curious because, despite having heard of AAC, I've never really looked into what it meant. The all-knowing Google found this answer:
"Short for Advanced Audio Coding, one of the audio compression formats defined by the MPEG-2 standard. AAC is sometimes referred to as MPEG-2 NBC (not backwards compatible) because it is not compatible with the MPEG-1 coding scheme. AAC boasts higher quality audio reproduction than MP3 and requires 30% less data to do so."

Missed the link because it expired. Any chance you can put up a new MP3 link through streaming upload like the december one?

December's was brilliant by the way.........
