Favourite bar on Selines??

Hi,

I was wondering what people thought about Selines and the different bars they have to offer. It's a toss up between Malibu and Jockey club really isn't it? The food at Jockey Club looked AMAZING when I was there yesterday, but a bit out of my price range.

Still yet to see any famous people at Selines, but thats the good thing about Ibiza, the fact that there are celebrities around and no one makes a fuss.

Think I will treat myself to a cocktail or two and some food at Malibu or Jockey Club, so which of the two?

Also is Selines a bit overrated as a beach?

Give Sa Trinxa a go - at the very end of the beach. Always play a nice mix of random tunes, very relaxed and if I remember it was slightly cheaper than both Malibu and The Jockey Club for drinks. In terms of food, I've had some really nice meals at the Jockey Club, but there are plenty other beach restaurants on the island that are just as good.

Ah cool, I will make sure to check it out next time I'm at Selines... really like Jockey and Malibu, but would be great to relax with some nice tunes and a cheaper cocktail at Sa Trinxa... always enjoy looking out over Selines from the beach restaurants.

Budgie what are the other nice beach restaurants you'd reccomend I check out?

for me when i pop down there it has to be Malibu (only cause i know one of the barmaids).she owns a bar in es vive as well.

how much exactly are the drinks/beds in these places? every time i ask people just say 'if you have to ask, its to much' lol

Andrew, if you are going to be putting this on the telly, it's actually Salinas.

Always a good idea when going there is to stop off at the Spa Supermarket on the right just before you get there as they make the BEST bocadillos and have the coldest beer. Take that to the beach.

A fantastic sunset can be had at Cap del Falco which on the other side of Salinas to where the beaches are.

it's not a toss up if you bring sa trinxa in. because then sa trinxa easily wins ;) the food is probably not as gourmet as at malibu or JC, but then again, sa trinxa is never as expensive as these two places and the VIBE at sa trinxa is unbeatable. deffo check this one out.

in high season - yes. it's wonderful up until mid-june and from mid-september onwards, when it's not too busy, though! (and people love to take long walks there in the winter months).

There's a little restaurant down on the beach at Es Cubells where we had a great lunch one day - really nice setting. There are a few good resturants at Cala Jondal - Blue Marlin, Yemanja and I can't remember what the other one was called, but it was up the other end of the beach - maybe Tropical or something. There are a few others with less glamerous settings but really good food - Soleado in Figueretas, for example. I've had a few good meals at Coastline in San An too in the past. And there are loads of places I've been past which look really nice, but I've never got round to having a meal there - La Barraca in Talamanca, the one at Es Cavellet (Chiringuito I think), Cap des Falco, Can Gat, etc. If you have a car, it's worth just driving around to some of the smaller places and trying your luck - you're bound to come across a few gems.

I-Spy, love Cap des Falco! We filmed a bar feature there for the sunset the other night, which hopefully will be online soon. Will make sure to write Salinas for the online videos.

I'm definitely a fan of the Blue Marlin... also ate at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the cliff at Es Vedra - Es Boldado.

Sad I only have a week left, would love to visit more great beaches and restaurants.

Z, sadly enough I don't have anything to do with the TV show.

How far is Ses Selinas from PDB?

Is it walking distance or do we need a cab?

just wondering whether to rent a car, as we have never stayed on this part of the island for, and I have got a feeling we are miles away from civilisation, shops, bars, taxi rank, supermarkets etc?

Very close - it's called Tropicana - it very classy & not the price of Blue Marlin. The beds have fresh white sheets fitted for every new client & the bar/beach staff ( dressed in white ) will bring drinks & food to your beds should you not want to leave the beach & go into the restaurant or bar area.

if you're on your yacht they'll even take your order out to you on a zodiac. i never realised that this was what zodiac service was until last year - i always thought it was something to do with your horoscope.

It's not walking distance (unless you like REALLY long walks in scorching heat!). It's only about 10 mins to drive though - will cost you about 12 euros in a cab from PDB - it's the other side of the airport. Salinas is pretty easy to get to, but sometimes you can have a bit of a struggle getting back and might need to get a tout cab (usually a few of them knocking round there at the end of the day) if you don't have your own transport.
